Is there really a difference between hot rollers and steam rollers. Is one healthier than the other? I just bought the new Conair Ion heat hairsetters (the kind that has the positive charges to balance out the negative charges our our hair) The box says it has new technology that more improved than any other hair roller setting divise. It says it can improve the condition of the hair. For more info go to: http://www.drugstore.com/qxp81159_333181_sespider/conair/ion_shine_instant_heat_hair_setter.htm

But is steam still better than heat rolling?

In my experiences, "hot rollers" always left my hair dry (as in using a hot curler), but I had wonderful curls. "Steam rollers" left my hair moisturized, a lil damp even.... still with wonderful curls.

I definitely favor "steam rollers" over "hot rollers". Given that the Conair hairsetter uses "ionic" technology, this could be more healthier.... maybe
