Is their a difference between fine hair and thin hair?

I was thinking it was the same but when some say they have thin hair it sounds horrible and not healthy unless they say naturally thin hair thin it doesn't sound so bad because it was naturally thin. But when a person says they have fine hair it's doesn't sound bad at all
 
Fine hair is where the actual hair stand is really thin and could be delicate.
Thin hair is when you have less dense hair or less hair strands than average. You can have coarse hair (thick hair strands) and thin hair because you don't have many hair strands. You can also have fine hair but it still can look thick because you have more hair strands than average (or dense hair).

Melissa Bee is correct.

I have fine hair, lots of it, people think my hair is thick until it is twisted, or flat ironed (which is why I avoid both styles now).

My godsister has thin hair. Not a lot of it but it is still thick.

i had fine and thin hair :( Flat ironing my hair is a sad sight. With consistent protein treatments and henna my strands are closer to normal but my density stays the same. Being natural hides how thin my hair really is.
 
Im both fine and thin which is why I hardly straighten... I look like the girl from the ring lol
 
I have fine hair with medium density....i used to have fine hair with low density but i'm changing that! I often refer to my hair as " fairy fine"
 
I can't do "out"/"loose" hairstyles due to my low/medium density.
it makes me sad,
plus my hair strands are kinda fine, but indianpowders and hydrolysed proteins strenghten them.
 
I have fine dense hair; alot of it. It looks thick when it's not flat ironed. I'm changing my diet and drinking more water now. I hope this help improve my hair.
 
I have fine hair with medium density that I don't wear down much because it just doesn't look that great. I do prefer the way I look with my hair up though so it's not all bad - I just can't do twists or mini braids.
 
Fine hair natural checking in. I have fine strands but there are a lot of them. My hair looks thicker air dried or blow dried. It looks thin when straightened. That's why I prefer textured styles.

Will this change your strands from fine to thick?
 
Just like others have stated, I have baby fine hair that will look thin when my hair is flat ironed straight. When I wear it curly, you can't really tell how fine it is.

My hair is the same. As a natural or even now relaxed but air dried or blow dried it looks like I have a whole lot of hair. Flat ironed on high or dominican blowout and it looks pitiful.
