Is the size of pencil.....

too small for cornrows and mainting health of hair and edges? If so, about what size is good or what's the smallest they should be? I've never had braids before so any input would be appreciated! TIA!

I think the "size of a pencil" guideline refers to free hanging braids not cornrows. But with both styles you want to make sure it is not too tight or pulls on your hairline.

Oh I see! I guess I meant to say width. Opps ! So I just have to make sure they arent too tight, Thanks!

I am having mine done around that size maybe a little bigger,but I told her that I don't want any tight pullling, I will definitely let her know if its too tight....But that is around the size that I am getting.
