Nope. That instruction really only applies to compound henna. But they don't elaborate. I use BAQ (body art quality) henna. It can safely be used with relaxed hair. But I did a strand test w/ hair harvested from my comb just to be sure.

Nope.

The henna we are using is 100% pure henna and is completly compatable with relaxers. Actually some people use it a few days before and then again a few days after a relaxer to strenghten and condition their hair with great results.

The henna that the relaxer instructions refer to is henna with other added compounds. We stay clear of those "unpure" hennas.

Ha! We're doing it again douglala. What? Were those 30 seconds apart? I think we just beat our last record.

Thanx u ladies. I was able to read some info from the searches. So, do u basically just get your henna from hennaforhair.com. Also, is there any special rules for using henna, like how often, certain shampoos, conditioning? Any tips will be highly appreciated.

I buy my henna (Body Art Quality) from Indian stores (not online, though). There aren't any rules that are set in stone, so to speak. Just make sure that you use natural henna. When I use shampoo, I use one that is moisturizing and the same goes for conditioners. I know that I saw a great Henna Q & A list that Sareca, VWVixxen and Douglala put together. I thought that it was in Sareca's album, but I'm not having any luck in finding it, now.

Here's a link that may help you, too. www.forums.longhaircommunity.com/showthread.php?t=35188

Most ladies are using henna and some are using both. IIRC, someone has used indigo by itself. Thus far, I've used BAQ henna, but not from hennaforhair. I'm still waiting for my indigo to arrive at the store.

OIC thanks a lot Mestiza!

I'm going to start off with the Regular henna. All it's going to do is make my hair shiny right? no color right? I'm a punk when it comes to "out the box" for my hair

Henna makes my hair very shiny, soft, strong and even thicker. So, it may do that for yours, too. Cassia is called "neutral henna" and won't add color. Regular henna may add some color to your hair. I have allowed the dye to release, but my hair color had a subtle color change, nothing major. BTW, my hair is dark. Happy Hennaing!
