I was thinking of making some whipped Shea butter and think I saw somewhere it was a sealer I forgot where...

I don't see why not, I know many people who do it. The only problem you might encounter is whether or not your hair likes heavy butters, which not everyone does.

To me it's both a moisturiser and a sealer, you can mix it up with different things and change the consistency to make it lighter for a moisturiser, mix it with fewer things and keep a butter consistency or use it raw. There are many moisturisers that contain shea butter.

For me I just used shea butter as a sealant. I would always have to use a moisturizing product under it.

My hair likes shea butter in small doses once Its mixed into a product.
Its one of the butters that is also moisturizing and a sealer

Shea butter can penetrate the strand, so its more of a moisturizer than a sealer.
