Is Rolling my hair @ night bad?

I wash every so often (not set number of days yet) then I blowdry. I flat iron and since I had layers it comes out all nice and fluffy. Ok I recently started rolling it at nght so that I dont have to put any heat in for the week. I read somewhere else that wrapping was bad so I got to wonder if rolling is as well? Thanks ladies...

Depends on the type of rollers. Those old school sponge rollers are a no no unless you use rolling papers to keep the moisture in your hair:up:

I know the magnetic rollers are MURDER to sleep on and if you're not careful you'll tear some hair with the metal clips.

I agree with nicki6...those magnetic rollers are MURDER to sleep on but if you are careful with the metal clips, you should be fine. I have not had any problems with this method. I only sleep in them once a week and wrap my hair the rest of the week. HTH

Girl, get the satin covered sponge rollers. They are the best! Soft, bouncy curls without being uncomfortable to sleep in. They also don't absorb the moisture out of your hair like the regular sponge rollers.

Today was wash day and I tried something different: a wet wrap under the dryer then used my sponge rollers to set my hair. Hopefully it will turn out nice tomorrow.

Ok I do use the magnetic ones...I took awhile to find a way to sleep without pulling on my edges. the scarf helps a lot...man so I guess I wil look into the other kind or just wrap it....man:ohwell:

I concur.

YOu may want to experiment w/pin curling. You can get nearly the same effect by making the curls larger or smaller, depending on what size curls you'd like. :)

I sleep in magantic rollers all the time and I think that my hair is healthier not worse. I even air dry my wet set over night and sleep in the rollers. I am used to them now. Pin curling didn't work for me, my hair was too tight and didn't look right at all so I have gone back to my rollers and I can say that my hair is in the best shape it has even been in.

KK, I may try that but like LadyR stated I think it may make my hair curl too tight. I may just need to switch to wraps. I would do the phony pony but I dont know how to get my hair small enough so that it would be unnoticed under the hair.

I'm amazed that you can sleep in magnetic rollers! They drive me crazy. I prefer pincurling (at night) or just using my Caruso rollers (in the morning).
