Some of you know that I've gone approximately six months without a relaxer until Monday when I received a fresh NEW one. I was astounded by the length that I received as well as the fact that I received no breakage from this extensive period of time while managing two distinct textures.
However, my friend told me that she really doesn't notice much of a difference between now and then. She INSISTED that I use heat (either the curling iron, or flat iron) because it had been 6 months, to achieve a straighter look, instead of the wavier pattern that I RECEIVED from AIR DRYING. Is this true? I've always thought applying a chemical was enough for straigtening the hair. I haven't used heat since September 2003, and didn't think it was necessary.
