to use a leave-in conditioner? I use one now everyday as part of my daily moisture but I was just wondering . . . .

Oh wait I use Pantene but I recently just started, But I dont use it all the time. I use it as opposed to rewetting my hair with water so my hair will be damp when I moisturize

That's how I use it too and that's the reason why I like watery leave-ins as opposed to creamy ones.

I don't think it's absolutely necessary to use a leave-in but a good one serves as a detangler also. I use it to protect my hair from the sun and to seal in humectants. I don't use any heat on my hair but when I did I used it to protect my hair from the heat.

For me I think it absolutely is. It keeps my hair moisturized on a daily basis. Without it (and I have done without) my hair would be drier and my ends looked brittle.

I agree. I use it in the place of plain water, because it does contain ingredients that soften and protect the hair. It's also an important part of detangling for me after I wash my hair.

It depends on how dry your hair is and if you live in a dry climate. For me it is necessary, my hair feels dry if I don't.

Before I came to the hair boards I didn't even know what a leave-in was. I now use Nexxus Headress and I'm so glad. It detangles exceptionally well and it hwas UVA and UVB protectors for my hair. It really protects my hair from dryness.

I didn't realize how important it was until I joined this
great forum. I live in Colorado where it is very dry and moisture is greatly needed to achieve healthy hair.

For me it is absoulutly necessary it helps with the detangaling process. The leave-in use has vitamin e, keratin protein, and b5 so it really helps strengthen and moisturize my hair. It also makes my hair soft I can really tell the difference it has made in my hair.

I don't think it's necessary. If you use a really good conditioner, detangling shouldn't be a problem, unless for other reasons.

Leave-ins actually bond to the hair fiber and provide protection and reinforcement

i use one because it makes it easier to comb after washing. my hair doesn't tangle easily, but i lose alot to shedding especially after i wash. the leave-in helps with that. i prefer the creamy ones. i only use it after i wash though.

Re: Is it really necessary to use a leave-in . . .

I use a leave-in because it puts extra moisture in my hair and helps with detangling. It also protects my hair from the heat when I blowdry. I don't think I could be with it, so it's a necessity for me.

I think it's necessary for sealing in moisture and protection.

It's up to you. I don't always use a leave-in. I think if your hair is tangled or curly, I would highly recommend using one though.

Can you guys recommend a good leave-in? and what does that leave-in do for you?
