Is it cheaper to make your own natural shampoo?

For you ladies that make a lot of oils, etc. Will it be cheaper for me to make my own shampoos or to purchase the all natural ones at the stores. I ask this because I have written to several companies that claimed that their products were "all natural" only to get them in the mail and they were not! I have already spent $80.00 last week and two of the products that claimed to be natural really were.

By far it is much cheaper to make your own shampoo. I've been promising for the longest time that I would e-mail the ladies potions and etc. and have not had the opportunity. I will post a little something within a few minutes.

In the long run, yes it is.

I make a nice Shikakai shampoo. I use Shikakai power (a little goes a long way with that stuff), Dr. Bronner's castile soap, and filtered water. I just put enough of the soap in to get a little lather, so a medium sized bottle lasts me a long time. Some times I add a few drops of Vatika oil.

Has anyone tried any recipes similar to this?
