braidouts on wet or dry hair? I can put my hair in a small ponytail, but it is still short and it's harder for me to grip it when it is extremely wet

Most people do them when their hair is wet. Some people get good results with dry hair. I think you will have to try both and see which one works best for you. If you do it with wet hair (which is how I do braid-outs on my micros), you need to keep the braids in until you hair dries in order to get good waves. Some people find if they wait until the hair is completely dry the waves are too tight or don't move like they'd like. For them, undoing the braids when hair is slightly damp is what works. You sort of have to use trial and error to find out what works for YOU.

I do my braidouts when my hair is only damp. I find it's too hard to work with my length when wet. So, I let it dry some in a ponytail and then braid it. Sometimes, I wear a bun the next day and do the braidout that night by spraying my hair with water/conditioner/oil mixture to make it just damp again.
