i towel dry my hair then spray it with my homemade juice (water/infusium/veg glyc) until its like 2 seconds away from dripping again lol (if sprayed to much i will ring with towel again). put HE LTR on my ends and then seal with oil (sometimes i seal then put LTR on ends lol)... i never thought to let my hair air dry 75-80% then seal.... i will try it on sunday just to see what happens. if i dont like it i can always re-wet and start over.
when i try it i wonder if i should wait to put on the HE too or apply that as usual and just wait on the oil. any thoughts from those who do wait?
I never seal soaking wet hair. I first ring the water out my hair with my hands, add my butters/moisturizer then seal with oil. Sometimes I will just skip that butters/moisturizer set and just use oil because water is a moisturizer, and the oil will do the sealing of the water.
I moisturize and seal my hair with oil when it is soaking wet.... then daily on dry hair..... it works really well. It has been really cold and my hair stays very soft and moisturized.
I use to moisturize/seal on wet hair and had no issues but that was when I was wet detangling in the shower. I seem to lose less hair when I damp or dry detangle so now I hop out the shower, moisturize on wet hair, air dry until hair is lightly damp or completely dry, apply a detangling spray if needed, detangle, then seal. This method enables me to apply additional moisturizer if necessary before sealing.
OT question: Does waiting to seal on almost dry hair give the moisturizer time to evaporate?
I band the length of my hair and scarf my hair until it's only damp. after that I moisturize with my leave in and seal with my coconut oil. It's only 30-50% dry when I do that.
