Is getting another weave a good idea? Should I continue this?

Ladies -- I've been weaving it up since the beginning of May without breaks. It's time for me to take out my current installation and I'm not sure what to do. I usually get stressed during the holidays, which leads to severe shedding and breakage of my hair. I also am rougher with my hair during the holidays because I am always short on time.

I have a serious exam in the beginning of February (taking the LSAT) and I am going to start devoting a lot of mine to studying. Looking cute and hanging out with friends will become a second priority in November as that is when I plan to start studying and attending study groups. My stylist suggested that I just keep my hair weaved up through the holidays until after the exam....no breaks, just keep going with the weave.

That will be nine straight months of having my hair under a weave. Is that a wise idea? I love the convenience of it and I know some people have seen wonderful growth hiding their hair. My stylist also does a good job of weave installation - she better be as I am paying $350 for installation (doesnt include price of hair).

But is that too much protective styling? The only time I DC is when I get a new installation job.) Sould I take a break from weaves? That way, I can get a touchup (haven't had one since April), and deep condition. Also, I want to keep my hair healthy but I don't want to go broke doing it.

Advice?
Thanks!!

I say you should take a break get a touchup and wait long enough to get a aprohgee treatment then put it in first of Nov. While you have it out you should try and really give it some TLC. mositurize before you go to bed and put it up at night. prepoo and massage your scalp during this time. Followed by a wash at least once a week and dc once a week with heat under the dryer if possible.

I agree, give your hair some time to breath, do a protien and moisturizing DC and then get a weave in Nov.
