Is Castor Oil some kind of humectant???

I KNOW one of my LHCF sistern got the answer!:

I've noticed that too much Castor Oil has the same effect on my hair as too much glycerin: SUPER moisturized, poofy, hair. Which got me to thinking: does CO have some humectant properties that I don't know about???

I always thought it closely resembles the humectant properties in that it pulls moisture into my hair. I say its similar to what glycerin is supposed to do; except glycerin does nothing for my hair except dry it out.
