Well, I have decided to take a gamble on the caruso molecular hair setting. But I most know if it is worth the money and does it really deliver good results on relaxed hair. I have 4a/b type hair and I hate to waste my money if it isn't worth it. What are some of your experiences with this product?

Yes it is worth it. I have relaxed hair and use my each morning to curl my hair. It is the reason I have left the curling irons along for the past three months. I have had nothing but good experiences with this product.

I guess I will have to give it a try. I'll post pics if it ends up being a good styling tool.

Does it matter if you get the regular or the ION version?
I bought a new Caruso system this past December. I don't remember seeing a Caruso ION version. Where did you see it?

I bought mine at Big Lots for 15 dollars. Can you try going there, Offlots or some thrift store maybe. There has to be a frugal way...

I think it's great, b/c it's a heat free way to have curled hair. But my curls don't stay for days as promised, it's more like 'the day' and that's it. I have to re-do them daily, but that only takes 5-10 mins. Once you figure out how much tension u need and have the correct sized roller you'll love it. I steam mine w/o the cover on as well, that way I don't have to worry about the moisture on the roller cover which was making my hair revert a bit.

I definitely think it's worth the money. It's fantastic. My hair has beautiful curls in it in less than 5 minutes with this machine, and the curls last all day for me. It also makes my hair very smooth, soft, and shiny. I absolutely love my Caruso!

I got a question. I never used these kind of rollers before. Do you put them on wet hair or dry hair? I would like to make my hair curly without having to sit under a dryer for hours.

I use the Vidal Sassoon Ionic steam rollers and I really like them. They're only $20.

@ Glossy: They go on dry hair.

You can only use them on dry hair.

Ditto on the Vidal Sassoon!

OT: Nice to see you again Leo!

I like VS better because the curlers steam faster and hotter, the curls appear to last longer, and the curls appear to be a bit more moisturized, and less time wasted waiting for them to "dry".

I will try to find a helpful thread for you on the VS rollers.

Well, I went ahead and ordered it. I logged on today and I was surprised to see this thread was still current. I never even thought about going to Big Lots, hmmm, I may have to stop by there.

I never tried the Caruso but I really like the VS Ion :D

I am thinking about purchasing the VS setter. Any tips on how to use the curlers properly? I don't want to end up with damp droopy hair. Thanks

I used my caruso setter this morning and LOVE THE LOOK..beautiful beautiful curls! I think the position of the rollers matters a lot!

I went to Sally's and got the Caruso SalonPro for $29 and later discovered the Caruso Salon Professional Molecular ION version from Amazon (free shipping) for $35.99. Some websites offer this version for $50-60 which is ridiculous!

I had planned to return the first one, but after reading all of the posts with everyone having 2 -- I've decided to keep it: a.) for the extra rollers and b.) maybe I can keep one at work?

I am very impressed with the Caruso -- my hair was much softer and I can definitely put my curling iron away, without hesitation! And, since STEAM seems to offer great benefit for deep conditioning, I'm now off to research a Tabletop Hair Steamer that someone mentioned on LHCF the other day.... :woot:
