I don't know but I loved her hair in fighting temptations. I never knew what they were so I couldn't replicate it. :(

The first ones appear to be individuals in the front that are braided very briefly then left loose with kinky twists in the back, and it seems they just started it off that way and left most of the hair out for a fuller effect. You can do this with hair that is tightly curly like 3c textured hair you buy in the store.

The second ones are senegalese twists, are these pix from when she was younger? Because I haven't seen her rocking these kinda of styles of late:scratchch, but then again I don't really follow entertainment news so I could just be outta the loop:lol:
 
The second pic is a half-twist out. Not sure of the 1st could be braided could be twists. Either way it looks like a lot of work.

Not sure ... But I must say, it's great to see Bey rockin' something a little more "ethnic" for a change! She hasn't worn something like that, to my recollection, since Destiny's Child first came out (see the No-no-no video with Wyclef) ... For a second there, I suspected that any day now, she'd be puttin' in the blue or green contacts (a. la. Vanessa Williams)! ... I mean, she was pretty much headed there IMHO!

Maybe Solange talked her off the ledge with her recent B.C.! LOL! Wouldn't it be AMAZING if Bey B.C.d once/if she and Jay-Z had kids?! After all, Solange cited her son as her inspiration for her big chop. Maybe Beyonce will see the same logic in that! ... Jay-Z might not like that too much though ... In his music at least, I've heard him call her things like "MY Bey" (pronounced 'Bee'), and/or "I got the hottest 'chick' in the biz!' etc. You know, all that macho posturing crap/baggage associated with hip hop. IMHO she's portrayed as kinda trophy-wife-ish in his raps. Might not be the reality. But given how private they are/were in their relationship/courtship, there's no way of knowing ...

Part of me wonders if Jay-Z thought the whole "privacy" thing up as a precaution in order to avoid his "rivals" pulling what Tupac pulled on Biggie when he claimed to have slept with Faith Evans (Biggie's wife). Monogamy/matrimony can be vulnerability in the "rap game" in that sense ... IDK.


But go Beyonce for the baby-step!! Keep it up!

These are old pics of Bey......
 
These pictures are at least 4 or 5 years old. They look like they're from around the time Fighting Temptations was out. The first picture looks like twists but they were started with a braid. The second looks like 2 strand twist extensions. She wore that style in the movie. She also wore braid styles for about 2 years from the period of time when Writings on the Wall was out up until the Survivor album. Her mother said in an article she was growing out her relaxer at the time - so in board speak she was transitioning. I do believe she is back to being relaxed now though.

I thought they were too, until today. I saw a young pic of her before her beauty pageant days on TV one, and her eyes were definitely dark. I'm assuming she's been wearing contacts for a long time?????

Those are her eyes. I believe she got them from her dad. Vanessa's eyes are 100% real.

Bey's eyes are already green-ish kinda hazel. I think Tina's eyes are green naturally.
 
Oh...Sorry Bey fans! I apparently don't follow her as closely as y'all ... Since you all DO seem to know her better, what are your hunches as to the gist of my original message? Do you think she'd B.C. if/when she becomes a mom like her sis did? Do you think Jay-Z would object?

Those pictures are at least 4 to 5 years old. We don't even know if she's transitioning or not. She's probably still relaxing. So I highly doubt she'll BC. And if she does she'll still wear her wigs and weaves more than likely because long flowing straight hair is part of her image.
 
Soo ... ya'll don't think that Jay-Z and HIS image might also influence her decision in the least? IOW, can you imagine a black man objecting if the woman he fell in love with with long straight hair, suddenly switched it up on him? ...

I mean, Bey IS approaching ~ 10 years in the biz! And she's pretty successful/established at this point. It might be a little risky, but if anyone had enough bankable clout to pull something like a B.C. off, it'd be her. After all, she'd still have a "pretty" face, light skin, light brown eyes ... all that "good" stuff to "compensate" for the hair. Now, by contrast, if an up and coming dark skinned woman with Afro hair was trying to make in in pop-music (i.e. be the "next Beyonce"), it'd probably be LESS advisable for her to do that (IOW, I'm NOT brand new ya'll. I know the deal). But, given her current position, Bey MIGHT have more space to push the envelope ... Especially now that her little sis has "brought it up" (i.e. the B.C-ing issue).

Furthermore, artists re-invent their images ALL the TIME! Why not her? ... I'm not necessarily saying/expecting that she'd wear it ALL the time. Of course a wig here and there wouldn't be surprising. But even if she just makes public APPEARANCES (not on stage, just out and about, like her sis does) in her TWA, it would STILL be AMAZING on a certain level IMHO. I mean, I believe Whitney Houston has had (or has) a natural/TWA under all those wigs she's been wearing over the years. But she RARELY if EVER is seen publicly without her wig. That's NOT what I'm talking about...

So I'm wondering if it's moreso JAY-Z's image that might be at risk if Beyonce B.C.'d. If so, THAT could be an obstacle to her going that route ... But then again, Jay-Z is cool with Kanye right? And I KNOW ya'll have seen Kanye's woman's TWA (I'm actually PROUD of him in that regard -- NOT in others though of course) ... Hey! 6 degrees of seperation! Maybe THAT's where Solange got the courage/inspiration to B.C. again! LOL! ...

Maybe 'Sean Carter' could hang after all. Especially given moral support from Kanye ... It's not like he has a huge rival out there in the Hip-hop game anyways right now. Nobody (of significance) is trying to 'step to' Jay-Z are they? I mean, as I understand it, even talents like Lil' Wayne (and Luda?) WORSHIP him (saw Wayne's documentary on VH1 recently) ... So I guess if Bey decided to B.C., Jay could relax and just spin it like "even WITHOUT hair, I got the hottest chick in the biz!" ... Ironically, THAT might actually get him MORE cool points in the end! LOL!

You must don't know Beyonce very well. DC's first album dropped in 96 and they were around even before that so that would put her at 14+ years in the biz. And Beyonce has changed her image before. She does change her look up here and there. She wore braids for 2 plus years. She wore kinky twists in Fighting Temptations and for a period of time surrounding the movie. It's not like she only wore them on set for the movie and that was it. During the Bday album she wore dark hair for the most part in all the videos. She wore a fro during the time the Austin Powers movie was out. She did quite a few photo shoots and the Work it Out video in a fro. For some of the other movies she did only wear the style in the movie and not off the set (Dreamgirls, Obsessed, etc.) but I think that was done so we would be convinced she was a character and not blonde haired Beyonce as we know her. She does go from straight to wavy to curly/kinky though. We don't only see her with stick straight blonde hair all the time. I like most of her curly styles better to be honest.

Beyonce's image is about a total package. She has changed her image before but she is not going to stray too far from the sexy long haired image because that is her signature and that is what she is known for. How can you toss and fling hair all over the stage with no hair? In this game sex sells and she definitely knows how to play the game. A twa is not the epitome of glamour in the business or in the real world for many people. It is the complete opposite of what the mainstream considers feminine and we all know many people still have a negative view of natural especially nappy hair. If Solange got so much flack when she cut all her hair off for the 3rd time how much do you think Beyonce would get? The negative backlash would be out of this world. The last thing she wants is to purposely draw negative attention to herself. Also people automatically associate a woman chopping her hair off with being crazy. Look at how they treated Britney Spears. I mean she was crazy but that was pretty much the last straw. That made it official. And more importantly if she BCs now they're just gonna say she's copying off her sister anyway.

Also natural hair tends to put artists in the neo soul box. When Chrisette Michelle came out her label purposely gave her a long straight weave for that reason - so she wouldn't be automati]cally boxed in. Beyonce is not even an really an r&b artist anymore she is pop now so a TWA is not going to fit into that sector. Pop equals long flowing hair (especially blond), little clothes and sexy booty popping and gyrating to hot beats on stage. It is what it is.

Lastly, Beyonce's image doesn't have anything to do with Jay Z's. She is an artist by herself first and foremost. Sure they are a couple and people associate them with each other but they are still separate entities. She is a bigger name than he is and IIRC she pulled in more money than he did last year. We see her on tv commercials, in magazines, on billboards, etc. She is a household name and on a first name basis. She is the bigger star. He may have been around longer than she has but she is the bigger star - if anything his image would be influencing hers. I'm sure plenty of people are looking at him and going wth does she want with him? :huh: Not the other way around...

Why do people want Bey to bc anyway? She's the empress of the hair pieces and wears them well, but it's not like we know what she has going on underneath them. She is a media personality and her image is public property. I'm not a media personality but I still like it that I can control what I show and what I don't. So I can't fault anyone in her position for wanting to keep a little something to themselves.
