Is Anyone Watching?

Yikes! I just saw your post and I missed the show.

Question: What is the name of the show? Will there be a re-broadcast? :crybaby:

From watching just the promo...it doesn't look like Bloomer is open to the dialogue at all; but I'd like to see the entire thing. Anyone has a link to the full interview? I actually like Farrakh-can , for non-religious reasons.. lol

Is this the interview that you saw, "Healthy Hair"?

Note: You may have to scroll down the page to see the video. I was hearing the sound only, at first then as I scrolled down, the video appeared.

Yes , your thoughts please you and @Laela
My first thought was "why this format of questions? Where is he going with this? I'm not impressed with the answers as I have never seen any actions to support the one-word responses. "

Some preachers talk too much and are giving all of these rehearsed "deep" verbals yet there's no fruit, no progress.

Bryant responded with a lot of Trigger words ... Okay, where's the target and why has the target not been hit and taken asunder? What is he doing and had accomplished besides talking?

I'm inclined to think that Bishop Boomer had similar thoughts. He as well may be looking for actions to back up all those words.

Just my initial thoughts. I didn't watch the entire interview. I will, though.

To be fair, I think Jamal Bryant does more than just talk; we (me and hubby) just noticed that most of what he had to say had been said before by other brave Christian leaders. I agree with two good points: (1) the lack of unity among Christians. The same pastors who so passionately opposed to what he did concerning Farrakhan (easy target for them, IMHO) are dead silent / do nothing when it's time to show their humanity and join with other Christians AGAINST the violence; and (2) Black Lives Matter sometimes. Amen. I chewed the meat, spat out the bones. Chuckled a few times. The interview could've fared better without the one-up-manship and shade, lol .. what was all that? I don't know what that bishop was trying to accomplish with his antics... smh He represents the black clergy who likes to keep things "calm and safe".... happened during Malcolm X's time. Same old, same old. Well, things need to change and at least someone is trying....no risk, no change.

Farrakhan is getting old and seems to be getting better at telling time. lol

Good perspective... @Laela. Actually, excellent!

@Iwanthealthyhair67, what are your thoughts, further?

@Shimmie

For me, the alliance with Farrakan was a bit off putting as I am sure many persons, church leaders etc., felt the same way.

Bryant said or alluded to that no one else supported him (not Bloomer or any of his friends in ministry)and when will we stop talking and DO something... he really clarified that he is not a 'johnny come lately' but he is and has been an advocate for the black man and so did his father and grandfather.

He spoke about the black church and how many of us can not say why we believe what we believe because we are not steeped in scripture, and we don't have tolerance for other religions because we don't know what they believe either, that really rang true to me.

All the shade I could do without, they were basically calling each other out on their sins who admitted to wrong doing, who asked for forgiveness as oppose to who got caught etc., also I could be wrong but it sound as if Bryant was insinuating that Bloomer is still doing something that he shouldn't be doing, like the 'Emperors new clothes'.

I definitely agree with Bloomer on Jamal having a way with his words, I think he called it 'word chess'. Also, Bloomer said to Bryant don't think that was the devil telling you that the doors are closing to you or something to that effect. I was like Lord, am I hearing right sounds like he's 'blacklisted' in ministry, lol, we are too worldly.

Bryant came off as look at what 'I' am doing, I got two major gangs to sign a peace treaty... I agree he is arrogant in fact both of them are.

I have nothing against these men but both of them come off as being shady to me Bryant has a long history of being exposed while Bloomers wrong doings may have been more hidden.

At the end of the day God should be getting the glory out of what we are doing, he should be at the center of 'the cause', and I am not certain if that is what is happening here....but God, he knows the heart of every man.

Thanks Healthy Hair... and it is the 'arrogant' air that I see in both as well. I just want to 'see' the 'action' and accomplishments that Bryant speaks of. Baltimore is still an unholy wreck.

True, there was an air of arrogance from both and we know what God's Word says about that. It would have done well for Bryant to give credit to God for the gang peace thing.. ah well. When I lived in B-more, I couldn't leave fast enough and that was over 20 years ago. He has a big job there...

@Iwanthealthyhair67 I can understand folks' concern about Farrakhan, but with the way things are nowadays, he likely should be the last of Christian folks' worries.. imho.
