Is anyone using rinse out conditioners as leave-in's?

Hello ladies,

It's so nice to be back on the board. I was just wondering, is anyone using rinse out (or instant) conditioners as a leave in? Of course, I don't mean any type of protein conditioner. But I'm talking about the ones that say "leave in for 1-2 minutes then rinse".

If so, how (e.g. are you mixing with water, applying straight out of the bottle etc.) and how often?

I have a HUGE bottle of Joico Moisture Recovery Instant Conditioner that I want to use up (I'm a PJ trying to change her ways).

If you have used a rinse out conditioner as a leave in I'd like to know your results, good or bad. Thanks in advance :)

:yep:. This is what I have always done. I use products marketed as milks and leave-ins to refresh only. My hair is not a fan of protein so I just make sure the conditioner is protein-free and use it straight out of the bottle. It has worked out very well.

I use rinse out conditioners as leave ins because it's the only way to tame my wash n go's. I use it straight out of the bottle because its easier. I find that many light conditioners like herbal essences don't tame my hair. I have to use something heavy and rich in oils

Oh yea, especially since I've been transitioning. I will usually dilute it a bit and use it after my porosity control hit. I like the way my hair feels afterwards.

Sure do. I love Darcy's Pumpkin Seed Conditioner and Curly Q's Coconut Dream Moisturizing Conditioner as a leave-in.

My hair love Darcy's Pumpkin Seed Condish as a leave in. In fact, I don't even bother with rinse out conditioner anymore.

I use Mane n Tail, mixed with water, coconut, evoo, and jojoba oil as a prepoo the night before I was my hair. It makes my hair feel great. Even after putting it on my hair my hands feel soft and moisturized lol.

I’ved used Shescentit’s Avocado Conditioner and Pomegranate Curl Quenching Conditioner as leave-ins with success. They’re used neat during my weekly DC sessions.

Thanks guys for all the responses!!!! :) :) :) I'm in protected styling right now and I want to buy something SOOOO bad, lol! But I will just use this Joico- I might dilute it with water but good to see that its working for you guys and I am going to try this. Trying to keep these strands moisturized ---its unusually cold in Cali this year!!

Merry Christmas to you all and thanks again!! :D
