I am having crazy severe itching and some dandruff on my scalp, i was planning on buying some MN and Nizoral shampoo to help because i cant take it anymore. I know i should go see a derm but i cannot afford it right now :nono: so anyones help or advice would be great, i feel like this constant itchy scalp is messing with my progress. I big chopped 14 months ago and im shoulder length stretched but i feel like im stuck here...

So it really did help with your dandruff and itching? How long did you have to use it for it to work for you? sorry lol im desperate.

have you tried products specifically for itchy/dandruffy scalp??

I'm just curious why monistat is the go to product.... am i misisng something?

Whenever I have a big flare up, the cream clears it up within 5 or 7 days tops. I put it directly on the spot at night and in the morning I see a big inprovement. I condition wash every morning so I have to re-apply at night until it clears up. I have had not adverse reactions.

Many years ago when I had bad itching and dandruff I used this product called Stopp It. I don't know what ingredients are in it or if it is even still made, but I do know that it definitely worked for me. Good luck!

I am using the rite aid brand I saw a thread on BHm where a girl used it as a growth aid i tried it and my scalp is benefiting so much and i have increased growth. I have been using it for 4 weeks now.

Because MN is an antifungal and excessive flaking can be a sign of fungal infection. I think it gets mentioned here because of the connection between MN clearing dandruff in many cases and also increasing hair growth for some.

I have used many different creams and shampoos. I had seen a dermatologist who gave me a prescription for a cream, a shampoo and steroids. I didn't want to start down that path so the "cooch cream" was my last resort. I looked it up online and read many successes. I read some people use it for hair growth. I haven't noticed a difference in growth but the dandruff is now completely gone for the first time since I started having having this problem 10+ years ago :yep:.

This is the growth that I got from using it consistently for just two weeks in December.

I don't use MN for scalp issues but will keep it in mind for the future.

Yes i have tried just about everything that is why i am thinking its a fungus, and like a previous poster said it's an anti-fungal so i am hoping this will help tremendously....added hair growth is a plus too

Dandruff is the only issue I have with my hair right now. I have less dandruff than I did when I was relaxing, but I'm ready for it to go. The Nizoral really works for me, but I stopped using it because it's expensive. Walgreens has BOGO half off right now, so I bought 2 last night.

I'm going to combine Monistat on my scalp 1-2 times a week with Nizoral on my wash days.

Wow that is great growth for only two weeks did you buy monistat or a generic brand, i was thinking about getting the walmart brand because its so much cheaper....

Okay, I bought the Target brand. We'll see how this goes.

lin1luv and whomever else, do you want to have a mn-nizoral challenge?

I used to mix MN with a little bit of Sulfur8 lite (blue jar). Applied lightly to the scalp daily stopped the itching and even helped with hair growth.:yep:

I've never tried the MN path but have you tried bentonite clay to clarify your hair? I suffer from eczema and using this once a month prevents the itching and flaking associated with scalp flare ups that I normally get in my scalp.

I would love to start a challenge it would help keep me consistent even if its only you and I lol Does anyone us else want to join?

Yes i use it and love it. Like Platinum said i mix it with Sulfur 8. I get good growth. I use the 4% Walgreens brand.

I never really got great results from the cheaper brand so this time I brought pure Monistat. I only used for two weeks because I got back in tree braids and I was trying to stretch the style for as long as I could.

My BFF uses the MN every time her scalp condition flares up and it is gone withing a few days. She also uses the nizoral too.

BTW: I haven't had any scalp issues since I started using MN as a growth aid.

So how long should one tube last? because i just signed up with a program with Amazon where they send me two monistat 7 day every month with free shipping for 19 dollars, it sounds like a great deal to me.
