Hi guys....for seborrhea a great shampoo for the scalp is DHS shampoo (not great smelling, medicated, but effective).

First stop: dermatologist...perhaps you can find an African-American one. Maybe they can do a culture. You never know, you might have something fungal or other scalp condition.

The breaking at shoulder length sounds familiar though. You have to protective style at shoulder length.

I swear by Ultra Black Hair products. The Lotion Creme Moisturizer got me out of a chronic dry hair condition.

Also, some people cannot use protein products. You might be better off with moisturizing products with NO PROTEIN. Try a Coconut Oil regimen. Warm up the coconut oil and massage into the scalp.

i use to have flaky ichy scalp when i started out
washing more often changed that but i still had problems with my scalp
tea tree shampoo has answer all my scalps problems

i usually shampoo ever week or every 2 weeks
if i don't my scalp gets build up and turns yucky.
aslo when i wash my hair i try not to get conditioner on it but that's easier to do with more hair length
i hope you figure it out

Same with me.....i'm lucky if i can get to 2 weeks (when i straighten my hair)....without a good shampooing....i ain't gonna lie...lately i've just been using my clarifying shampoo on shampoo/DC days however i do anything within my power not to use cones....i'm tellin you...those cones in the conditioners....even Hair One has cones!!! They make my scalp itch and my hair dry. Just try a clarifying or chelating shampoo (ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo does both i believe) every week. And only condition your hair with coneless conditioner and try to stay away from moisturizers that contain cones and mineral oil and stuff like that.

I was using all that stuff before i found LHCF and my head would always itch like crazy.:nono:

hey @divao4!!!!!!! miss u babe (thru that test yet????)

i didnt know u also had an itch thread......here's mine....... ITCHY SCALP HELP? click here (praying your find a solution in one or the other)

until you find one.... can you agree to LIVE UNDER A STEAMER??? scalp, breakage, brittleness..... at least it "helps" with all of those. no haps with me yet, but i grabbed a tip from nonie on essential oil in my acv rinses.... i apply tea trea oil (the pure liquid kind) not the oil mix at wally world......i add drops to my acv & water = now that process is allllllllllll the way tuuuuuurned up!!!!!!! :look::grin:, i wash my scalp with it after i shampoo.... sometimes again after i condition, uuhhhhhhhhhh it feels so good

steam steam steam! oh yeah.... i kimay tip: keep the scalp pH balanced....or even slightly acidic turns away many scalp issues
aloe vera juice is a winner
