Irritation, Frustration & God

I'm wondering, does God get irritated with us? That is really rhetorical as I believ that he does. I often picture Him listening to our requests and thinking, "Why are you asking Me? I gave you the answers already and there were people kind enough to put it in book form for you to read."

I chuckle sometimes and think that the scenario is like getting a new gadget. It comes with an owners manual and even online resources that anyone can read. Yet people still call customer service (or a forum) for them to tell them how to make it work rather than take the time and effort to read it themselves.

I am beginning to think that God intentionally makes us wait or does not answer us so that we get irritated or frustrated and go seek the answer ourselves. Not from other sources (people, books, CDs, etc.) but from His Word. Then if we think we have our answer after earnestly searching His Word for it, He will confirm it.

I don't think that He plays games, but I'm just wondering, do you think that God gets irritated with us and allows us to get frustrated so that we go to the source - His Word?

When I go into my Bible study and my prayer time with God
All I can say is when you worte this

Isaiah 43: 18-28 also, Isaiah 43:24 stands out even more.

I believe that he "feels" everything that we feel. The power is in his approach to those feelings. He is like one of those patient parents whose kids fall out in the grocery store begging for the sugary cereal, all the while kicking and screaming an snatching stuff off the shelves. He just keeps walking with us, keeps his eye on us until we realize that 1. the answer is still no, 2. Because everything that looks good isn't good for you. 3. because his Word says so 4. He probably says, now fix your face and let's keep it moving.

All the while, he never stops loving us and never gets embarrassed by our actions because he knows that we are his babies and it is in our nature to want what we want, when we want, how we want.
Then he takes us home, cleans us up, and lets us see how good honeynut cheerios taste and how good they are for us. lol

LOL i like that.

i need to add i was specifically referring to things that we want that are NOT against His will (in general or specifically for us) and that sometimes we keep asking Him repeatedly for things that we are entirely capable of going after and already have is permission but yet are still looking for him to say ok.

this may not be a good analogy but like when i was a child. i'd announce that i was going outside to play. i did not ask for permission, i knew i already had it. the only exception was if i wanted to go to another playmate's house or to a destination out of eye sight. so had i repeatedly asked "can i go outside and play? can i go outside and play? can i go outside and play? can i go outside and play?" i'd only frustrate my parents and irritate them when i could have gone the whole time. or worse, if i got on their nerves the answer would turn into NO! now go sit down somewhere. like i said, maybe a bad analogy but that was the idea i was going for....like ppl asking God for a mate, or for a job, or for financial help. None of those things are against God's will for any of his children. It is the specifics of those things that we bring to Him, not the generals.

sorry, i know that still was not 100% clear but hopefully u get where i was going.

i agree w/ your whole post though, not just what i edited.

:lachen:I love this! Yes I believe He does. I remember getting frustrated about school a few months ago. I went and joined the dang Navy all the while God was telling me no and that I was fully capable of finishing my education alone. Yall remember i was a dang mess and a half. Anyway one day i get ticked and yelled at God. Don't yall know He let me have it. I was in silence, sniffled a few times and then "fixed my face" and kept it moving. You have never been shut down until the Holy Spirit shuts you down. :lachen: I can laugh about it now but I didn't even know what to think!
