Interview tomorrow: lacefront or not?

A lil back story: I did my second attempt at a rollerset last night to see if it would come out good enough for me to do the same style for my interview on Monday. EPIC FAIL & breakage city. My hair just doesn't like rollersets so I'm over it!

Now I don't know what to do. I pin curled it for church today but that was a last minute not-cute style. I am almost 12 weeks post so I have a lot of untamed new growth that I'm nervous about dealing with so I am debating on whether or not I should just forget it and wear my lacefront wig: quick fix but risking that if I do get hired I will presumably have to answer a lot of questions by my caucasian colleagues as to why my hair texture looks 'different than it did the other day'. I had to deal with this at my last job which made me highly uncomfortable, but seeing as though I was the only woman of color on staff, unfortunately I felt obligated to answer. Have you seen The Unwritten Rules on youtube? That was me! :perplexed
Or should I risk wearing my hair out: avoiding potential stares once hired but it's also time consuming, this new growth is NOT looking presentable, and heat in the morning with blow drying etc = moving backwards. I've been doing so well with no direct heat since June.

What do you think? I'm really looking for opinions as to the pros and cons of each, this will help me to narrow down my ultimate decision. Leaning more on wearing a wig and just doing that until my next touch up in December @ 23 weeks.

If you feel like you will look your best with the lacefront, wear it. If you get hired, any questions from co-workers about your hair is a minor concern. The new place will probably have different personalities and culture anyways, they may not say anything at all.

No. Put it in a bun and keep it moving. You want the interview to be about you, not an interviewer being distracted by your hair.

I'd say bun it or throw on the lacefront and worry about the rest at a later date. Buns are always a clean, professional look for interviews.

If you have Curlformers, or Rods, I'd say do a curly style that will blend your natural & relaxed textures. If not, I agree with the ladies who suggested a bun.

Stick on the LaceFront. You won't see those people until after they've offered you the job, but then your hair texture shouldn't be the lasting memory. If it is, then I'd wonder on what grounds you were hired! lol

If they do question your change in texture tell them to.... BLEEEEEPPPPPP lol

I'd try my best to slick my hair back into a neat bun.

12 weeks post? I would just do a bun.

Personally, I find White coworkers more forgiving about hair since they really don't know what our hair should look like when "done".

If the lacefront looks professional and makes you feel comfortable, I say go with that. I'm currently in the midst of a long stretch (20 weeks so far) and I don't think my bun would convey a "professional" look - not for an interview.

Go with the choice that makes you feel most comfortable and confident.

Huh? A bun is one of the most professional hairstyles one can wear.

I agree with everyone that says bun. Throughout my years in college, I was taught (by corporations) that wearing your hair back in a ponytail or bun is the most professional look in Corporate America.
I've been working in Corporate America for 5 years now and I wear a bun 80% of the time. Granted when I do where my hair down, I get a lot of compliments and "you should wear your hair down more often" comments. But at the end of the day, my skills/performance speaks much louder than my hair.
And caucasians really don't care IMO.

I think you should wear a bun if you can. Unless the lacefront looks great and you feel really comfortable in it.

When I was 43 weeks post relaxer, I went to an interview with a bun..and I got the job. :yep:

I usually wear my hair in twists and I just took out the front where there was enough hair to cover the back and slicked the front of my hair back/down with some Aloe Vera Gel.
I think buns/french rolls/ponytails are best for interviews because they don't distract the interviewer.

The attached is after the interview.

I say a bun slightly under the crown or low around the nape -- both should be ok IMO. I wouldn't do one at the very top of my head like you see in the streets on the weekend. Buns are safe and professional. Keeps the hair off your collar and is far less of a distraction for the interviewee and the interviewer(s).

I would start off w the LF...... I find that if I don't wear my LF down my past my bra....

I don't get questions..... they hate on a sister w longer than theirs........ lol

...Trying to test my limits to stretching, may or may not make it that far though. We'll see.

me too Dec is the target date. 12/28 will be 7 mos..... I wont go there....
I wanna relax my hair twice a yr.... if I can

stretching my relaxer make my hair longer & thicker
......
I'm learning how to retain my length after I relax also....

wigs have made my journey so easy......

I think you should go with the lacefront. It sounds like you would be more comfortable with it and able to keep your mind on the interview vs. what your hair looks like. And it will also make getting ready easier. Don't worry about anything after the interview. Just do what will give you the most confidence in the interview.

Struggling with the same question! I will most likely just pull my hair back into a bun but I do think my wig would be a bit more polished. I tend to be a bit uncomfortable with my current wig though, so I don't want to be bothered with it.

This is a photo I took this morning after I got back from my interview. As you can see I decided to go with the lacefront wig. My confidence level was on point and the interview went real well so I'm hoping and praying that I get the job!

Of course this is photoshopped but still I love it!
