Hi,

Could someone please tell my which ingredients to try and avoid when pickin poo's, conditioners and other products. So far I think I have read Petroleium (sp?) and mineral oil. Also, I was thinking maybe I should try an all natural approach to products is anyone currently doing this, or is it even possible?

Hi FB:

For shampoo, I avoid any kind of sulfates. They are the lathering agent used in 'poos, but they are waaaaay too harsh for my hair. That being said, I do clarify once a month with Suave Clarifying 'poo, and it contains sulfates. But other than that, I stay away from it.

As for conditioners, I avoid petroleum products (this includes mineral oil) and dimethicones.

Hope this helps!

Hi,
Elucence (my staples) does not have these ingredients. Also, Aubrey Organics. Just read the labels and remember that the sufates my be:

sodium lauryl sulfate
sodium laureth sulfate
ammonium lauryl sulfate or
ammonium laureth sulfate

The petroleum stuff is easier to find.

The no sulfates shampoo will usually have another type of lathering agent (except the Aubrey stuff, which almost doesn't lather).

Good luck!
