LOL! Pebbles, GMTA (Great Minds Think Alike), and the ingredients on the bottle makes it even better!

i love this conditioner! i've been using it exclusively for the past couple of weeks. it gives great slip and i lose less hair during the combout process. is this considered a protein conditioner? if so, should i stop using it all the time?
Adrienne, I'm almost sure this is a protein conditioner. Isn't it the bomb, though? /images/graemlins/up.gif I love this stuff - doesn't it give fantastic slip?! It smells SOOOO yummy - so does their normalizing (neutralizing) shampoo. I don't know how concentrated it is, though. I'm not at home now, or I'd check my bottle. I think a protein conditioner is considered concentrated if the directions say to rinse for at least a minute. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
I don't think it's a protein conditioner, or at least not one like Apoghee. I picked up some info from an Affirm distributor that describes another type of conditioner by KeraCare called Super Reconstructor. It hardens the hair (like Apoghee) and it is recommended that you rinse and condition with the 5 in 1 after use to soften and detangle.
Hi Stacey, the cream 5 in 1 reconstructor is not as potent as the Aphogee, but it is still a protein and should be used with care and caution. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
LOL. /images/graemlins/grin.gif Yeah girl, I wouldn't use it twice a week, (though it smells so good and makes hair so soft I can see why you would want to). /images/graemlins/wink.gif
With this 5 in 1 does it stop the breakage just as well as say the Motions CPR and the Aphogee. (Even though the Motions CPR isn't a 'proper' protein conditioner.)
Does the 5 in 1 need to be followed up with another conditioner after use? I'm looking for a good moisturising protein conditioner to use on a 4-6 week basis as the Aphogee is just too drying, and seeing that I'm taking care of the hair very well I don't really need to use it as breakage isn't really an issue for me. I just want to keep it strong.
I haven't used anything as strong as Aphogee. Aphogee is a big weapon. I use the Affirm 5 in 1 reconstructor right after my relaxer application, and once every 4-6 weeks for strengthening and maintenance. It's excellent for regular maintenance. It's not as potent as Aphogee, so if you need a protein conditioner for regular maintenance, the 5 in 1 is a very good product to use. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks Pebbles. I think I will make that trip to the big hair store next month and invest in some of this stuff. You're right about the aphogee being a big weapon. It's like the Jet Li of protein treatments.

Today when I got my wash and set, the stylist used the the Affirm 5 and 1 (smells delightful), and put me under the dryer for 10 min. She said it didn't need to be followed by a moisturizer cause it had moisturizers in it as well. I could tell however, that it not give me the slip I'm used to. If I had used it at home, I would have followed up with Elucence. I will be getting some of this for my arsenal though. Then I'll be done testing products!! /images/graemlins/grin.gif
I just realized that I didn't answer the first part of LD's question. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif I follow it with a moisturizer sometimes when I want more slip, other times I don't. It all depends on what I'm planning to do with my hair. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

ArmyQT did you getthe Affirm relaxer done today? If so how did it go?

No girl, I'm not getting a relaxer until the end of March. My mother, however, is going tomorrow to get her affirm relaxer. I'll post her results though. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
Oh yeah, duh I remember you saying at the end of March now. I'm very sleepy /images/graemlins/ohwell.gif Let us know how your mother gets on with it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
I don't own this conditioner or anything but can it be used weekly The only protein I recognize in here is collagen. Isn't that great for elasticity or what.....

This has been my experience too. I use it for CO washes, and there's barely any shedding. I'll contiue to use this one!
