My bff uses this as a curl definer. I guess the protein hardens her hair somewhat, but not in a stiff, sticky way. It doesn't do that for me at all, but she swears by it. She still has 3c curls even with relaxed hair, and 3c/4a natural--it works for her both ways. I've had it used by a professional for a blowout and my hair felt amazing (I was relaxed then). I think it's a good product, especially when used sparingly/in moderation. Some people say it did nada. I have to admit, using it at home, I wasn't that successful, but of course I was a teen then. LOL It's been around forevah!
