Request Ineffective Search Function!

How does the search function display results now? It's definitely NOT by "recent date". How the search is now, it's not very effective.

Please fix how search results are displayed!

When you hit "more" or do an Advanced Search, there's a box that says "recent date" that you can select.

I know, but I shouldn't have to go through all that for a decent search. Under the old board, searches were sorted by most recent date by default. For example, now if I search for something, I'm seeing threads from 2003--why?

The new search sucks horribly. Why can't it pull up a thread that I started within the last two weeks. It should be at the top of the search not the bottom.

The search sucks. I was trying to find the thread about homeschooling in Off Topic so I used the terms "home school," "homeschooling," and "school."

The first two terms gave me the recent thread about a funeral for a young child. Wtf! The last said "no results found."...

OK, I thought I was the only person having problems with searching. Glad to see it's not just me
