Indian Oils...

Hey Ladies,...
Yesterday I went crazy (for me) in the Indian Grocery Store and bought:
2 bottles of Mahabhringraj
1 bottle of Ancient Formula Coconut Perfumed Hair Oil
1 bottle of Dabur Amla
1 bottle of Dabur Amla Gold (w/almond &henna)

I have done so many searches on this forum, but I don't feel I have gotten sufficient input on how people use these products and the end result.

I used the Mahabhringraj oil on my scalp last night and coated my strands from root to tip with the Amla...My roots (11 weeks post) were SOOOOO soft and my hair had incredible bling w/o the oily feeling! But, I would like to know how some ladies use the Mahabhringraj (and other products if you've tried them) and if it has assisted in growth and density as claimed on the box. The coconut oil I will be using in my pre-poo with unrefined shea, 1 egg and a moisturizing conditioner (will keep you advised on that one).

Please help!...Thanks!

P.S. My issue is that my hair is now incredibly thin when it used to be thick, long and gleaming and breakage is a muh (much less breakage now from tips I have learned from this forum). Oh and my MT is on the way!

I am TRULY appreciative of any assistance you can provide. THANKS AGAIN!

I also started using Indian products as an antidote to my own rapidly thinning hair. I use Dabur Vatika and Ramtirth Brahmi because these two are not cut with mineral oil but have a pure coconut oil base. That is not important to some people, but if it is to you be careful to read labels. The Dabur Amla and Amla Gold definitely contain mineral oil.

I use mine as a pre-poo before washing with Indian Ayurvedic powders and a few times a week on the scalp with a brief massage. I use other products on the length but will use the Vatika on the entirety of my hair in a pinch. As for results, my hair is still paper thin but I have noticed small patches of brand new growth. It just isn't enough to restore even a portion of my hair's former glory. I will continue to use it though because Ayurveda, like most natural health systems takes time and consistency. Doctors can't help me and Ayurveda (and maybe Mega-tek) are the only things that have given ANY results. I certainly have nothing to lose.

How long have you been Ayurvedic?

How long have you been Ayurvedic?

I started using Ayurvedic herbs in about June when I added Products of the Earth Hair Revitalizer to my reggie (it has Ayurvedic herbs and a lot of other natural hair growth stimulators). I went full-fledged Ayurveda with the oils, powders and whatnot in late August. My hair was already pretty far gone so it may be essentially too late. I wasted time with a lot of know-nothing dermatologists who were supposed to be specialists. I may have gotten better results had I caught this earlier but I am thankful for what progress I see. I hope this helps a little. PM AngelDoll, she is also using Ayurveda to combat thinning. Take care!

I use amla oil on my hair before using the powders. I also use amla oil mixed with rosemary oil for scalp massages here and there. I use vatika oil for scalp massages and for styling. I use coconut oil for moisturizing and styling.

I've been using Indian oils for 4 months now. I won't go back. I do nightly scalp massages with Mahabringraj and Vatika Oil and I pre shampoo with the Amla. I also seal my hair with the Vatika Oil. September-December results are in my fotki. My hair is much thicker and strong. :drunk:

I didn't care for the Dabur Amla at all. I think it has mineral oil in it to some degree. But if your hair likes that, by all means, use that. I haven't tried some of the oils because I want to know the ingredients and sometimes its not listed

Yeah, I noticed that the Amla only states the ingredients as "Amla in oil"...not what type of oil. But so far...two days of use and my hair is looking blingy without the greasy effect. I think I will not use them tonight b/c I can see where it might get a little slick soon....:spinning:

Well I just checked out your fotki...you weren't working with shabby hair to begin with..:yep:,but I see how much fuller your ends are and the shine is great!...and your growth is nothing to scoff at! GOOD JOB! I didn't get the Vatika...I have to look that one up!
