in search of a new leave in

Rusk Smoothers Leave-in is a good one to try it is a creamy leave-in. A good spray leave-in would be Biolage Daily Leave-in Tonic.

I use and love Salerm 21.

I have Lacio Lacio, and it's ok.

I used Kiehl's leave-in for a long time. It's another good one.

All three of these are creamy leave-ins (which I like best).

I have watery ones, but I think I'll be trying some creamy ones suggested in this thread myself.

I have Motions Nourish and Elasta H-Two leave-in moisture sealing conditioner.
Also, Infusium 23, original and maximum body formula, but they have to be diluted.

Since I am new to this board, I do not want to recommend a hair product that may not work for you. However, I just tried Nioxin Smoothing Reflectives Silk Elixir. It's a creamy leave-in for coarse hair like mine (I'm a 4a), and it helps to control frizz. I purchased a 5.1 oz tube from Walmart's SmartStyle hair salon for $11.95. I think JC Penny's also carry the Nixon Smoothing line. For me, it was worth the price.

I too use Nioxin slik elixir leave in and have used it for over 3-4 months. My hair has thrived! Supposedly it does not grow your hair but help to maintain hair and keep it from shedding, but it has grown my hair ridiculously. I will have to take pictures since my touch up because I am either at brastrap now or just above. The downside it that you will need a touch up sooner d/t all the new growth. I could not go past 8-9 weeks. I had enough new growth. It looked like I had 3-4 months of newgrowth. I hear Rusk smoother is also good. you may want to give that a try as well. I found Rusk and Nioxin on ebay for less than $5 a piece. I rarely pay salon prices for my hair products!

Hi, Chaya! I agree with you. The makers of Nioxin may not have intended for the products to be used for hair growth, but the ingredients create the perfect environment for increased growth. I have noticed that my hair has been thriving as well. I started using the Nioxin Follicle Booster on Feb 26 and my hair has been growing like weeds. I will take a look at ebay for my next purchase.

Rusk Passionfruit Smoother ( for great detangling ability) mixed with

Lacio Lacio ( for condition and shine, incredible shine)

Ydbaldock, I buy my Nioxin Follicle Booster off ebay also. Its about $20 per oz in stores. I have gotten it for $10...

Nioxin Silk Elixir is my next buy

I actually use the NTM Silk Touch Leave In also.... And I also use it as a moisturizer.... It says to apply to damp hair, but I use it on my dry hair too.... I just love the way it makes my hair feel when I use it in my dry hair, so for me it's like a 2in1!

Current Length: just grazing shoulders
Current hair goals: just happy, healthy hair, length will follow.
Album coming soon

Word on that. It's pricey for it's size but it's definitely worth the price. they also have it at trade secrets

Are you ready for this? The Nioxin Follicle Booster is regularly $49.95 for a 3.4 fl oz bottle at most salons. And I paid $11.95 for the Silk Elixir at Walmart's SmartStyle. lkg4healthyhair and Chaya mentioned that they buy their Nioxin products from eBay for much cheaper prices.

It's a scalp treatment that it is not rinsed out. You apply it directly to your scalp and hairline twice daily (same way most use Surge). The directions on the bottle says to use it on areas that are excessively thin-looking. I apply it to my entire scalp though. It gives a slight tingling feeling. I am a little heavy handed when it comes to hair products. Therefore, I try to make it last longer by using the new and improved Surge formula in the mornings and using the Follicle Booster at night.

I have also used the Nioxin Smoothing actives Moisturizing cleanser for a clarifying wash every 4 weeks or so and I also use nioxin smoothing actives Moisturizing scalp therapy maybe 2-3 times a month as deep conditioner. I always follow with another deep conditioner to get more slip. I really like this line alot.
