Tonight I went through a little slice of hell with my hair.

I was doing this thing that I've begun doing, leaving conditioner in my hair and just letting it airdry. Then I rinse it out at night.

It keeps my hair moisturized amd the curls are defined, but I don't need gels or leave-ins.

WELL...

last night I deep conditioned with Suave milk and Hiney mixed with oil and honey. I woke up, removed my plastic cap and it was all good. All day my hair looked great!

UNTIL I tried to rinse that crap out.

I know what it was... it was the oil that I used.

I used aphigee EFA mix instead of my normal evoo. This was the only thing that I used that was different. I have noticed in the past that the efa mix makes certain conditioners clumpy and stuff, but I thought that the suave would be ok.

After rinsing my hair it looked like I had snow in it. :ohwell:

I had to clarify my hair. I lathered up and massaged TWICE. It still wasn't out.

So I had to sit down, section my hair and add CLARIFYING POO to each section and comb through it with a comb. That did the trick.

Now I'm about to rinse my reconstructor out and apply my deep conditioner.

I've lost about 3 times the amount of hair that I usually use. It's not TOO much though, about the size of a cotton ball. Thank God.

NO MORE EFA MIX FOR ME!!!!!!!

It has letchin in it, I think that's the culprit.

Porse,

Don't feel too bad:p, we all have some type of set backs... I am in the last 2 weeks of an 8 week stretch and it seems none of my usual good products are working and the shedding is continuing:cry: ... But I am staying focused and I know it will be alright in the end... Hang in there.. I hate to see shedding:swearing: :angry2: :cry3: ... it just puts me in a bad mood:wallbash: ... You are not alone with minor problems...

I feel and share your pain:lachen: .....

Have you ever tried NEXXUS HUMECTRESS, It would do the same thing and you dont have to mix it. with the amount of the three products and the time you could buy Humectress.

Thanks for your replies. I just have to convince myself that this is minor, to not get too upset about it. My hair should bounce right back.

Hairmaster, I have tried nexxus humectress and it is horrible on my hair. It's not detangling or moisturizing at all. I think that it's because of the mineral oil in it, mineral oil doesn't agree with my hair.

I mix my deep conditioners with oil and honey not because I have to, but to give a little extra moisturizing/conditioning. Even if I was using salon products, I'd do the same thing.

The prodcuts that I use now work VERY WELL for my hair. There is nothing that detangles and leaves my hair as soft as the suave milk and honey or luster's revitalex (my other deep conditioner)... I'm not using it to just be cheap. I've tried them all... from cheap to salon. I am a reformed pj

I've just never tried leaving the aphogee oil in my hair before. I have used it, mixed with other oils though. Never alone like today. I've learned my lesson.

I can relate! Recently, I figured that I would use VO5 Strawberries & Cream Conditioner on my hair as a moisturizer after I used Aloe Vera Gel. Big mistake! My hair felt so nasty, clumpy and sticky! :wallbash: I was so mad b/c: it was late, I don't like washing my hair late at night, it's getting cold in my area and I don't want to get sick. :ill: I don't use heat on my hair and it takes a long time to dry. I couldn't stand it! I had to wash my hair, right then. Thankfully, I only lost a few strands of shed hair. :drunk:

Sorry for your setback, we all have them. It's just a lesson learned. We have a lifetime to grow and take care of hair....so be encouraged! :)

I do the same routine as you with my deep conditioners. I just started using honey though and it is fantastic. I only use evoo though in my mixtures.

Lately, I've been using the ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Pak...it's awesome. I know you said you tried them all, but I was wondering if you've tried the Pak. On Monday I mixed the Pak, a dollop or two of honey and a few spoonfuls of Herbal Cholestrol with Carrot Oil. It was delicious! I'm considering leaving it in and rinsing later.....we'll see.

Anyway, it doesn't sound like you had a major setback, just a hurdle. We need those to make us stronger.

Take care

Don't worry bout it, this is really minor in the scheme of things. I think most of us have stories like that.....Don't get me started on my 'mixtures from hell'...lol. Just go back to what you were doing. I think its because we always want to find out if something is better....even when we find what has worked the best for our hair. I used to do the same thing...that's why I was such a PJ.

But now you know that the EFA oil is not for mixing, that's what counts. :)

Porsche, thank u! I will be trying this as my new alternative to daily cwing! I tried something like this in the summer. Leave conditioner on at nite, but I always washed it out in the morning. I'm gonna try it your way and see how my hair digs it. Thanx again!

Yw! but why have you given me the finger?

:) I know it's supposed to be thumbs up, but look at it. lol

Just don't use aphogee efa mix with it! Plain evoo is the way to go. Also, I want to warn you that for the first hour it will be easy to see that your hair is coated in conditioner... but that stage goes by fast. Good luck!
