In love with Phyto index 1

I've used phyto II for a little over a year and noticed that my hair was in better conditon, but not as thick as i know it can be. My last relaxer (2 weeks ago) I decided to go with the index 1 because i've used mild relaxers in the past with success.... let me tell you this was the BEST haircare decision ive made in a while. I have 4a hair so i was definitely concerned about achieving straight results without underprocessing. I left in on for the full 25 mins in the back and smoothed and my hair was so staight silky, yet THICK.... the front was processed for only 15 mins, and didn't come out as straight (except for some patches of 3c which relaxed very straight) but now i know for next time to leave it in longer and smooth.. I'll be using this from now on!

Plus i had no scalp irrittation at all, felt almost like conditioner from start to finish.

hey beana... i am so happy to hear that you had good results with phyto index 1.. i may try it in the near future.

I'm a 4a/b but my hair breaks down really quickly once the relaxer is applied. I've been using Index II for the last 3 touchups and my hair always comes out bone straight even though it still has body since it is Phyto. My hair is also very thin so I'm wondering if Index I would work for me. I think you definitely are onto something here. I may give it a try the next time around.

Thanks ladies! Sherrylove your hair is so long and shiny! NY cutie, i strongly prefer my relaxer results with phyto 1 over the phyto 2, just make sure your smooth it through if you decide to try it and leave it on a few mins longer. My hair is actually straighter with this and lush looking. I didn't want to post immediately after because i wanted to see if the straightness lasted through a few shampoos and it has. The true test of whether i'll stick with this is if im able to stretch to 12 weeks comfortably, but i'll take 10:grin:

I was wondering about this! I.e. whether I could use Index 1 on my 4b hair. I really would like to retain a lot of body, and I want it to curl when wet.

I would like to know if any ladies with 4b hair have used Index 1.
What results did you get?
How long did you leave it on for?
Did you smooth?
Did you self relax?

My hair is 4a for the most part and very thick despite the fact that my actual strands are pretty thin. I used the Phyto 1 to relax after a 14 week stretch. For me it didnt work out that well most because I didn't have enough relaxer to get through my whole head properly. I had about 2 + of new growth. I left the relaxer on my hair for 28 minutes. I smoothed with my fingers. My hair did not get straight. The curl pattern relaxed to wavy but not straight. I thought that I would have preferred the wavy pattern but next time I will go for completely straight. I would post a pic of the results but its taking a really long time to open my fotki. HTH
