I hadn't intended on straightening my hair until the end of the year, but I decided I needed to at least dust my ends since I haven't had a real trim since august. I didn't do any prep (like my normal rollerset or stretching....or DCing) :look:. II co-washed last night and applied some cantu leave in on my ends because I had a test this morning so my hair was flat-ironed from it's natural unstretched state. I used my Maxiglide with the pin plate. I also used Chi Silk infusion, Chi iron guard and a little mist of Beyond the Zone Turn Up the Heat (just in case). Sooooo....here they are:

Almost BSL:

Sometimes food can taste so good it makes you feel sick. your hair looks so good and healthy i feel sick. beautiful hair, just beautiful

You did an amazing job. It's so straight that it looks permed. I'm going to try straightening for New Year's. After you cowashed, did you braid or twist your hair to let it dry overnight? Do you think these results can be achieved with a regular flat iron or does it have to be a Maxiglide? TIA

Excellent MG results! What MG setting did you use? How do you plan to maintain? How long will it last? Does your hair s(nap) back immediately?

TIA

WOW! Your hair looks wonderful! I wish I could get my roots like that, but I guess I just need practice.

I hope your test went well!

I did braid my ends (without a ponytail holder). This can be achieved with a regular flat-iron

In this case, I just use the chase method. :yep:

Oh gosh... I was gawking at pics of Sedu-straightened hair last night and decided... right, let me get the Sedu. Now I see your hair, and I'm stuck again... maybe I'll just have to get them both, lol. Oh, this site *shakes head*.

Your hair looks great, OP! Good thing I'm in twists or I'd be in the bathroom heating up my Sedu right now! :lachen:

kblc06...

I am speechless. I also have a maxiglide xp and I am going to do some straightening this sunday. I will go the CHI products. Thanks for the nice pics. (I think with me henna'ing 2x this week and just did another hibiscus pack, my hair is going to be coated enough and protected. AND with major bling!!)

I used setting 4-5 on my MG (different settings depending on how I prep my hair). My hair seems to revert more quickly when I use my MG than when I use my FHI (I probably could've carried my last press w/FHI 2 weeks if I wanted). But I usually miss my kinks after 5 days. I very consistent with my DC treatments and I always use some form of protein because my hair is fine so reversion has never been a problem. I also use the minimum amount of heat possible to get my hair straight in 3 passes or less

Thanks!

The crown of my is much looser than the back so it's just easier to get them straight. There's a certain section on the back, right side that will NOT get straight for anything. It was like that when relaxed and it's the same now that I'm natural :ohwell:
