1. washing only my scalp
2. Deep Conditioning only the ends
3. Using leave in but also water when setting. I spray the leave in once, but use water to moisten the section I am setting..
4 After hair is dry using oil to moisturize ends when needed.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a good plan to me.... I don't see anything wrong..... But you might want to wash the ends a little to remove any previous residue from oils, environment/pollution, etc.

@vevster, how are you going to wash your scalp and avoid washing your hair? Or did you mean you'll just focus shampoo on your scalp and rinse off without squeezing the length of the hair as the shampoo washes through it?

Also I think if you found a way to wash scalp without washing hair, wetting hair that has layers of leave-in from several settings which will obviously attract dirt from the environment can make your hair get funky or moldy.

You said you will DC the ends but will you condition the rest of your hair in any way? I understand focusing on the ends as they are the oldest and most damaged so the idea to DC ends alone doesn't sound bad, but I would think conditioning the rest of your hair may not be a bad idea even if you leave the extra TLC of DCing to ends.

Your planned regimen made me think of that of one of my hair idols, JJJ, from whom I got the idea of skipping the area close to scalp when applying conditioner, and focusing shampoo on my scalp when I wash my hair. She seems to do what you're thinking of doing, so there might be some good to the regimen. I don't remember if she uses any leave-in after the wash though.

Yes, nonie, I mean focus on the scalp and letting the later run down and clean the rest.

The set came out pretty good! Now I need to work on my styling technique. I want a hipper look.
