I'm stick and tired of wasting money on soft bonnet hair dryers! HELP ME OUT, LADIES!

Serenity_Peace

Genius never dies!
Ladies,

Seems like I've tried all the soft bonnet hairdryers, and they're all a big waste of time and money. They break easily, won't dry my hair, and are just plain annoying.

I'm looking for a soft bonnet dryer, one that I can take with me on the road if need be; one that works and gets hot enough to dry my hair no more than 2 hours.

Can anyone suggest an effective soft bonnet hair dryer?

Thanks, ladies!

I've got Carel Soft Bonnet Hair Dryer from Sallys. It works well for me. I mainly use it to DC. When it wants to blow off my head, I just tie a scarf loosely around the top of my head and tie it under the chin. Hope this helps.

I had a Gold N Hot Professional 1875W Ionic Soft Bonnet Dryer and it was one of the best soft bonnet dryers I've ever used. It got super hot and was very easy to travel with. I could easily pack it into a small bag, like an overnight bag or whatever. It was also comfortable to wear even though you will probably get a lot of laughs. You put the little band around your neck then you adjust tighter or looser to make the bonnet more snug so that, if need be, it can accomodate large rollers or maybe an updo.

I had a dryer similar to this Vidal Sassoon model for many years. The bonnet tore eventually; the motor was still good, but Krups doesn't sell it anymore. If you can find it in the States, I highly recommend it and get one or two extra bonnets just in case.

ETA: I see the Gold N Hot Professional 1875W Ionic Soft Bonnet Dryer is similar. If I were in the States, that's the one I would purchase.

I have the Gold n Hot Space Helmet and my sister has the ion space helmet and they both work wonderfully well. They have both been discontinued, but you can still find the Gold n Hot on Amazon and the ion on ebay.

I have a Gold n Hot. Not the space helmet one, just the regular clear plastic one. And I HATE it. It was such a waste of money for me.

That's what I have. I've had it for a few years without any problems (knocks wood). I should have bought a backup just in case. :perplexed

I have the Gold and hot space helmet, my only issue with it is that its way too hot, but am a real wimp, I think the hard bonnets at the salon are too hot too. the only bonnet that i didnt think was too hot, was the one is this expensive white people's salon, it felt so cool but my hair dried within an hour, go figures they always seem to have better stuff

Sorry you've been having such a bad experience with the bonnets you tried. i have 2 soft bonnets that I'm very happy with....

#1 is the ion dryer that looks like a silver space helmet. Love it! The bonnet is big enough to accommodate large rollers. The motor part is small enough to fit into a suitcase with ease (took it on my last vacay). It gets hot - I can't keep it on high the whole time. I got it on ebay about 2 mos ago but I its made by belson, so the gold n hot version is probably similar (never tried it though). I bought it specifically for travel, so I don't use it as much as the other dryer.

#2 is a GE vintage bonnet dryer, works great, dries fast (but not as portable as the ion). Got it on ebay too :).

I've tried the gold n hot one that is black and has a plastic pop up top. It worked well at the time, but took too long to dry my hair, which is why I bought these two..
Hope this helps...
