This site is like a Godsend!!!! My hair has been neglected for a long time (i know shame on me) but I'm trying to do better, I do have a few questions. What is Prepoo, and co washes? What type of products do you use when you do this. I'm thinking co wash is like a conditioner wash? But I have know clue. I am trying to use less heat on my hair. Last weekend I blowdryed it and flat ironed after I washed it and that was the only heat I used all week. ( I've been wraping it nightly) now this is comming from a girl who use to curl on high heat daily ( I know I should be slapped) lol I'm trying to transition to no heat but when I wash my hair it curls up then gets mad frizzy. I'm lost lol. I think my lasy relaxer was 6 weeks ago. any advice would definantally be appreciated

Thanks

Welcome :newbie:. There are some different wrapping techniques I've learned here that may help keep your hair from being stressed at the same places each night. You can wrap to the left or right or try a cross wrap. I prefer the latter. I'm sure you will learn a lot here. :)

I guess I'll be the first one to extend a welcome to you. A co wash is short for conditioner wash. Most ladies here use a cheapie conditioner like vo5, sauve or ones they are trying to get rid of. I personally use vo5 or pantene and add some other stuff to it like honey and coconut milk. I usually do it once a week (midweek) but I there are some that do it everyday or 2-3 days and swear by it. A prepoo is when you put something like oil or conditioner on dry hair and leave it for a while before actually shampooing. They do it to give the hair added strength/moisture before shampooing. I have tried it a few times, and personally it didn't do much for me. So instead I deep condition now before I shampoo (saves time) and I get the same results.

Anyway, there is a sticky (a thread that never goes away) at the top of every page that should have some really great info for newbies. Hope that helps and happy growing:D

Welcome to the forum!!! .... My hair curls up when wet and am prone to frizz so what I do is dry my hair on rollers under a hooded dryer and make sure its dried all the way then I dont get frizz. Lacio Lacio leave-in is good to help smooth ur wet hair out on the rollers. I rarely use direct heat on my hair .I have a few ways that I do it on my fotki in My Journals under my regimine

Wow thanks so much for the advice, amd I will check out that sticky. I'm so jealous you all have such beautiful hair. Hopefully I'll be there soon

Thanks for your help

Welcome fellow newbie! Although I have been taking care of my hair for years, LHCF is definitely an added plus to all things hair on the extreme healthy tip. I too am a newbie, so I would definitely like to welcome you with open arms! :clapping::clapping: Let's get this party started right and let's get growin'! :dance7:

welcome to the board! like someone mentioned lacio lacio leave in is good because it smooths the hair on the rollers. also maybe u can use some steam rollers so you can stay away from heat. i use the vidal sasson rollers all you need to do is let it sit on the steamer for about 10 or 15 seconds and then put them in your hair and let it stay in for about 10 mins and the curl lasts. its a good alternative to heat and the rollers are not damaging because they infuse moisture in your hair.

Welcome aboard!!!!! Happy Hair growing!!! :yay:
