I\'m ready to fill my shopping basket with hair products and...

I really would appreciate it if those who are familiar with Dominican products could help me customize my basket of goodies to start with. Currently I'm using Aubrey Organics GPB shampoo and GPB conditioner (I do like using natural hair products). I love the conditioner, but feel that because it has a little bit of protein in it, that it would keep my hair strong but not give me that burst of moisture I'm looking for. My hair is quite oily about three days after I wash my hair even after a good clarifying wash. My scalp produces enough of its own natural oils, and I suppose me wrapping it every night may contribute to that also. I don't use additional oil on my hair accept when it's time for a touch-up (WGO) or after I flat iron my hair but just with only a tiny bit of serum to tame the flyaways where the part it. So I think I may need a clarifying shampoo that doesn't strip too much, a moisturizing conditioner that's not too heavy or oily and a setting lotion that won't flake or leave any buildup when I wrap my hair and will also give a bit of a shine and moisture. So come on and let's start the advice column so I can take some notes. Thanks /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Two of my favorite Dominican products are Miss Key 10 en 1 Super Conditioner and Lafier Honey and Almond Rinse.

I think there might be a thread like this. If I find it, I'll bump it up for you.

Allandra, what do you like about the Honey and Almond Rinse?

The smell, the way it makes my hair feel.

Yes, I love the smell of this product!

I love Capilo's Sole & Cinnamon conditioner, Lafier's Honey & Almond rinse. Even though it's not technically Dominican, I love Salerm's wheat germ treatment.

Is there a Lafier Honey & Almond rinse as well as conditioner? If so, which is better? TIA

Yes, there's a rinse and a conditioner. I haven't tried the conditioner.

ALLANDRA...Honey & Almond RInse

Allandra, I can't find it on Sickbay /images/graemlins/frown.gif Do you think the conditioner is comparable?

Re: ALLANDRA...Honey & Almond RInse

I'm not Allandra but the conditioner is much thicker than the rinse. I would send the owner an email to see if he can't order the rinse for you. He's pretty good about taking special requests and since Mark has the conditioner, getting the rinse shouldn't be a problem.
