Hi all,
I really don't understand my hair ! I've been on this forum for a while now but did not benefit from it......
I managed to grow my hair even and cut it in April 2009 to have a good start but it seems that my hair did not grow of an inch since then I swear !!
Last night I took out some cornrows that I kept for a week only and decided to pre-poo overnight (castor, olive and coconut oils) before my shampoo this morning and I lost soooooooooo much hair.
My hair was already detangled yesterday, I could gently comb it as I put my oil mixture on it so I don't get it
I think that my hair just don't like being relaxed so I'll just transition a bit with braids and cut the relaxed ends progressively as I remove them every 2 months.....
Sorry for this long post, just needed to talk I guess ;-)

. But take care in the fact that there will be plenty of setbacks, as well as victories. This is just a bump in the road that you WILL overcome. So now that you've narrowed it down to the relaxer being apart of the problem, you can start on a good path for the health of your hair. I wish I could give you more information about the pre-poo thing. I don't really know how, nor have I tried, but maybe that could have been apart of it? Either way, keep thinking positive and stay true to your hair's needs!

..but are you sure you're experiencing shedding (white bulbs on the end)? If you kept your cornrows in for a week and the normal shedding rate is 50-100 hairs per day, maybe its not a setback? Maybe garlic would help? I hear it's good for shedding...I'm sure others will respond...
