I'm just gonna do me

December will be my second anniversary on this board. I came in as a prospective transitioner. I got armed with info and decided to continue with the process. After about 6 months into my transition I decided to BC. I got a lot of support from the ladies here. I continued to get support as a natural and I learnt so much about my hair and my natural texture.

Now that I'm relaxed again I still feel support from ladies here. Right now I feel that I'm armed with knowledge and a support group. I've decided to just use what I've learned and do what's best for me and my hair. I'm not gonna be joining anymore challenges (I'm sticking out the one I'm in until December) nor am I going to jump on bandwagons.

I've come up with a regimen that works for me right now and I'm just going to continue doing that and marking my progress. I will continue to post my progress pics here and continue to participate on LHCF.

I heard that.
I kept signing up for challenges and then never saw them through to the end.
I may have to follow your lead.

Good for you, Val!!! Your hair looks beautiful and you will reap the benefits of establishing your reggie!!!
Looking forward to seeing your progress, sis!!

I am only on personal challenges. The only thing that has proven to work well for me is weaving my hair 4 to 5 months at a time. [of course reinstalling every 6 to 8 weeks]. Everytime, i take out the weave and relax, I am blown away. Therefore, I am sticking to it.

Right on Val. You are definately on the right track. Happy growing!

it's support like the above that keeps me logging on to LHCF everyday:grin:

good for you girlie!

I'm currently wearing a sew-in. I got wet and wavy indian hair.... I think the brand is Outre. It's so soft and it doesn't tangle. At $34 a pack (I used 2 packs)it better be good .... college student like me don't have
money to throw :nono: I'm gonna try to keep it in for 4 to 6 weeks.

Im doing me too. I love this board but i think im going to focus on the hair threads. The Off topic section and Entertainment Board are starting to irk me due to all the negativity oozing from them

You've got the right idea. When most people first join this site they are new at taking care of their hair and don't really know what products or regimins work well for their hair, so for a while (it took me about a year) they'll jump on bandwagons and try out a lot of different products to see which reggie works best for them. But after a while you come across a combination that works best for your hair and experimenting with different routines becomes unnecessary. Now you can just sit back, relax, and chat with the rest of the women on the board and watch your hair grow :yep:.

Sadly this is true. I have been really busy with work and other things and have avoided some of those negative threads (though not all of them).

What's more sad to me is that even some of the threads that have potential to invoke/stir interesting, stimulating dialogue, create drama b/c all it takes is one person to come in and turn the thread upside down.

And sadly, that's even begun to happen here on the hair section of the forum.

I've seen threads where people will talk about beautiful, natural heads and someone comes in saying why people who relax are X, Y, Z, when the person starting it, wasn't even on that negativity thing.

And another person will start a thread about relaxed hair, and someone will come in talking about self-hate and why relaxed hair is damaged, etc.

It's like, come to this board to learn and share, not to start drama, and let each woman do with her hair, body and soul what she pleases:yep:
