the one i see doesnt have a heat setting. it goes to a flat out 400 degrees and im thinking that is very hot! does anybody have the fhi w/o the heat setting? does your hair burn when you use it? if i do get it, i know im going to have to work extremely fast!

let me know if you like/dont like you fhi!

I have the old one and it doesnt have a temp setting either but it has red plates. It works really well. how much are u gonna pay for yours?

is that the one from smartdealsonline.com? there were some ppl who had problems with those irons and that seller...they said they were falsely advertised and they were lying about the irons....if I can find the thread Ill bump it...

I was gonna tell u, I have the red plated FHI that heats to 400 and just bought it off ebay recently...but then someone sold me a CHI which I like better bc it has temp settings...so I have two irons now and only really need one! Ive been thinking of selling it so let me know if u are interested!

Weave, I bought both of my irons from smartdealsonline and I never had a problem with them as far as false advertising, customer service or anything. (I honestly don't remember anyone saying that they had so if you could find that thread, I'd be interested to read it!) You can always check their rating on ebay. Right now it's 99.5% and you can read their feedback from their customers if you like.

Weave, the FHI with the yellow plates is just ceramic coated. The one with the red plates is ceramic and it goes up to 450 degrees. There are several other ladies on here who have the FHI and have given very positive reviews (although, it was of the one with the red not yellow plates) I have one and I love it! Gets the hair silky straight and smooooooth!!!

but it says that it was a true ceramic plate *cries* the liars! how did you know it isnt full ceramic if its yellow plated?
thanks fot the help so far guys!

I have the new FHI, and it is so funny, because just yesterday I have to do my ends for the humidity, and it serious gets hot, it only takes about 6-8 secs to get really hot, and it did a good job.

ok, so the red plates are better than the yellow? thats what im pulling from the text but im trying to be 100% sure be4 i make this big investment!

I have the red plates and it also has a heat setting. This one is better than the yellow plates ones since those are older and have no heat setting.

oh, the one im getitng is the red plated one from leslie..but there is no heat setting.

weave, there are several models,I think the difference is the red plates are all ceramic and the yellow ones are really ceramic plated. It doesnt have the settings and I would say its comparable to the CHI original which is what everyone was buying till they just came out with the CHI turbo with settings but it doesnt get quite as hot as the original. hope that makes sense! both the CHIs are fully ceramic too.
