I\'m down in the dumps!

Ladies,
I am so down in the dumps today

My hair is not where I want it! I'm sick and tired of wearing this bun! To top if off I've gained about 20 pounds since I got married 2 years ago and I can't fit my big old butt in some of my favorite outfits. I feel like crying

someone please tell me something good so I can be happy for someone or something.

thanks for listening to my pitty potty!

Re: I\'m down in the dumps!

You could be bald and 100 lbs overweight.:D 3 or 4 inches of hair and 20 lbs don't seem as bad now huh?

Re: I\'m down in the dumps!

I know what you mean, my bun bores the hell out of me too sometimes, but I just keep my eyes on the prize girl. Maybe you can create some kind of exercise program for yourself, then while your bunning it (and ofcourse growing your hair) you can get in shape and feel good about yourself. In the end you'll have the hair you want and the weight you want together.

Hey Girl
Stop feeling down and pick yourself up.

Have tried wearing other protective styles such as phonytails or braids even a cute wig.
Just think someone else might be glad to trade place with you because of problems they
are faced with consider yourself BLESSED.

Re: I\'m down in the dumps!

First thing you should do is get a mirror and start telling yourself how beautiful you are, it may sound hoky and lame but girl LOVE yourself. Next thing is start walking the walk when you get dress in the morning dress, like you are beautiful. Why? because you are! Gaining lbs is hard but taking it off is easier when you are gentle on yourself instead hard on yourself. We have enough enemies in this world without you becoming your own worst enemy. Keep your head up, sunshine is here soon.

Re: I\'m down in the dumps!

Toni, you give good advice. When I'm down and out I will be sure to contact you for a pick me up!

Re: I\'m down in the dumps!

Stacia, sounds like you've hit that wall that all of us hit every couple of months. Twenty pounds is not a lot of weight, think if you were like 50lbs overweight. You could lose 20lbs in no time-try following an eating plan similar to Weight Watchers. Three meals a day with two snacks. And remember as far as the weight issue goes (and anything else in life) there is always someone worse off than you are.

I wish I could give you encouragement about the hair, cause I feel like I'll be maintaining my same length forever trying to grow these sides out to one length. I looked at Leejure's pics and anyone else's pics w/one length hair and want to scream. But everyone was where you and I are at in length at one time-this too shall pass. And try telling yourself this-you still aren't going to slack off on your hair routine, right? So while the growth or progress may SEEM (keyword here) slow your hair will continue to be healthy with what you are doing-so you won't lose progress. Hope that helps!! Big hug to ya!
