I\'m Back!!! and with a product review....

Hello ladies
I have been extremely busy and crazed lately but I wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone. The new board looks great and I see we have a ton of new members here since I last posted!
I had to move out of my apartment while they do some major repairs on it. So this new one that I am in has the hardest water ever. (I also cannot attach a water softener system to the unit like I had in my old apartment) So I tried a Culligan shower filter first and it helped a bit but my hair was still hard and brillo like. (For those that don't know I am a daily washer/rinser b/c I wear my hair naturally curly)
I was so hard for me to get a comb through it. Then my highlights started turning greenish!!! So at a local beauty supply shop I found Ouidad Water Works shampoo. Great Stuff!!! It removes chlorine and hard water mineral build up. This has saved my hair. I also do ACV rinses before conditioning and my hair has completely turned around.
The Ouidad shampoo I really like alot. It doesn't leave your hair stripped and a little goes a long way.
I have also dyed my hair back dark brown. I used Textures and Tones Cocoa Brown. The greenish, brown, brassy red was starting to get on my nerves. It looks so much healthier now and I can actually see a nice shine to it when I wear it straight.
Lets just hope the Ouidad stuff doesn't strip the color out!!!
Valleygirl
PS Thanks to everyone who PMed and emailed me while I was gone. It's nice to know your thought of when your MIA!
And special thanks to Allandra for keeping me updated on everything!!!

Oh I also had to close my picturetrail album for a minute. Someone kept leaving sexual messages in my guest book...sick folks out there.

Hi Valleygirl!!

Nice to have you back!! /images/graemlins/smile.gif Sorry about the picturetrail. I don't know what's wrong with some folks. /images/graemlins/perplexed.gif

Re: I\'m Back!!! and with a product review....

Hey Valleygirl...I missed you. I read about the Quidad before and your review makes me want to try it. I have a shower filter, but the replacement filters cost as much as the filter itself. I also love my Elucence, but I was thinking do you feel I could use this along with the Quidad? Also I thought Quidad was only available online...where did you buy it? I might have to get you to ship me something again. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Okay I'm done....(whew!)

Re: I\'m Back!!! and with a product review....

Hi Sweetcocoa
Congrats on being the featured person of the month!!!
As always your new pics of your hair looks amazing! I love the shine!
The Ouidad actually says to use 2-3 times weekly. I thought it said to alternate with your regular shampoo but I just checked the bottle and it doesn't say that. Maybe I read it on her website. But I see no problem with alternating the Ouidad with the Elucence.
I also thought it was only available online but this uppity beauty supply store in West LA carries it. It was about $14 at this store. I think the price on her website is even cheaper or will work out to be the same with shipping and all. But even though the ingredients are nothing spectaular, pretty much the standard stuff I like it a lot. It has panethol, glycerine and propylene glycol, some citrus extracts along with the sodium laureth sulfate which is probably why my hair doesn't feel stripped. I would list them all but I don't have time right now.
Does Ouidad have a return policy on her website?

Re: I\'m Back!!! and with a product review....

Welcome Back Valleygirl, you were missed. /images/graemlins/smile.gif That product sounds very interesting. Although my husband just put a filter on our shower, this shampoo sounds like it could be an extra benefit for the hard water. Thanks a lot for the product recommendation.

I know, I didn't expect to pay 19.99 for a water filter and it do a job with the bad water we have. My husband put one on our kitchen sink also thinking I would use it for cooking. Please, I just went out and bought me some more distilled water today. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you so much Valleygirl...you must have known the ingredients was the next thing I was going to ask. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome back Valleygirl.

Sorry to hear about the account. You're one of my fave hair ladies on the board, some people just have to spoil it for others /images/graemlins/mad.gif Hopefully you'll sort something out soon, I'd love to see your new colour.

Shame about the water thing, but the plus side is you discovered a new product that works well to combat it. Luckily for me I can get that product over here so at least I can save some money, but still doesn't mean I'm not tempted to try it. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif
