or trained, whatever, is it ok to relax or will all my hair fall out?

Also, can someone recommend a stylist in the Atlanta area? Thanks.

Missfadu, the last thing damaged natural hair need is chemicals applied to it.
What about a lot of DC'ing and grow a little, trim a little process to get your hair back on track.

I guess so but I don't feel like dealing with my hair anymore. It's a constant struggle and I never look right...:nono:

My hair is also heat damages/trained, and I would not put a relaxer on it. I think the results would be devastating! Right now, the crown area of my hair is very limp and straight when wet. The back and sides were not as heat damaged, so I am going to go with the slow grow out method. I am also very curious to see if my straight areas will continue to grow and thrive with proper care. I'd like to grow my hair APL and I don't want to cut it all off.
I've read before that you don't like your hair now that it is heat trained and that you're tired of it. I just wonder what specifically is giving you problems or why you don't like it?

You can relax it but you need to spend a little more time working on it first.

I would follow Tracys bootcamp for colored hair regime for a month first. Its basically a regime that is designed to increase the strength and elasticity of the hair while still maintaining moisture and its supple feel. I can bump it for you.

Since parts of your hair are heat trained, in a way, if you relax, its like you will have double processed hair. Not exactly in the same sense but I think you get my point. Its not impossible to do, I myself and double processed, but you need to prepare your hair before you do it. Plus from your post it seems like you are fustrated more than anything. Only relax if you are really sure. Try following the Tracy Bootcamp for atleast a month, if you can two. That way, you have more time to really think about it and if you do decide to do it, you would have atleast increased the health of your hair so that you could do it. Keep us posted with what you decide to do.

NOoo. A relaxer won't help. Try a hard protein followed by a thick moisturizing DC w/ a steam treatment. Do overnight pre-poos w/ EVCO and EVOO (they penetrate). Every wash try to incorporate a light protein and a moisturizing DC. This should mediate any breakage until you slowly grow out the straighter ends

I just wanted to come back and say that Balisi is a great stylist.

Do you have any pictures? How often did you straighten your hair before it became heat trained? I recall seeing more pictures of you with straight hair than curly.
