Please let me know what you are doing differntly than everyone else. Or what it is that you do when you use it. I just got my bottle yesterday and I am VERY hesitant to try it based on all of the negative side affects people have been having. The drying rashes, gray flakes, etc.... It really scares me.

When I use surge, I also use an oil right after it. Or some kind of moisturizing creme after. My hair is fine. I use it also as a leave in after a wash.

I always used a creme moisturizer after Surging. I stopped using it though after hearing all of the negative side effects though.

I haven't had any problems yet, but then again I've only been using it very sparingly. I'm actually getting a little worried about this stuff and what it can possibly do to the overall health of our hair! Although I've had no problems I think I'm going to throw away the bottle of spray and keep just the woojee cream! Then after that I think I'm done with it altogether! I was all about Surge!!! Now I think Cathy Howse is right - it's just another one of the many gimmicks aimed at US!! I feel awful for jumping on the bandwagon and spreading messages about how good it was and now many people are having bad reactions to it! :-( I also feel stupid because YES, they got my money too!!! When I called the company they were Asian too - nothing at all against Asians, I love all of God's people. But arent' they making enough money off of us with the Weave, Wig and fake hair business then too come out with a product that's irritating our skin and scalps - is this to make sure we end up with no choice but to wear wigs, weaves, and such??? If I wear one I want it to be by choice, not by need! I just feel awful about this Surge stuff!!! That's it. I just made up my mind - I'm throwing it all away and never looking back!! I'm going back to the basics in 2004!!!

It seems the Surge may be very concentrated. Maybe you the Surgers can try diluting it with some S-Curl or other liquidy leave-in.

I bought 2 bottles of Surge and am almost done my 1st bottle. When the 2nd is done I will not repurchase. It does do what it claims but I don't like the risks associated. And who knows what can happen in the long term.

Wow you ladies are making me very afraid to try it. I think maybe I will see what happens in the 2 week time period and go from there

Are you for real that Asians run this company???

I swear they know just what we as AA are into and how to make money off of it. They own a lot of beauty supply stores and a lot of those stores that only sell the latest namebrand clothes and we are buying it up like fools. I threw my hands up when I went to Harlem and Asians own a damn Soul Food restaurant that is crowded as hell everyday. Let one of us open up a chinese buffet in Chinatown!! We would not get one customer

I wasn't positive that it was an Asian company, but I thought it was becuase when I called I was speaking to an Asian person who then began speaking in an Asian language to another employee, so I assumed. I also thought it was geared toward people of African descent because of the ads and the posters in the windows of the Beauty Supply stores. I'm suprised that it's being sold in India and other places as they've never had problems growing their hair. Even many of the men who wear turbans have butt length hair underneath, and many people in that society do not ever show their hair - men or especially women! As for Asia, I never knew of them having issues with hair growth either, so that's interesting. But again, back to here in the US. This products is causing just too many problems on too many different people and I just bought a new bottle of the spray and the woojee cream a week ago (before I started reading all these horrible stories of damage) but I'm throwing it straight in the TRASH!!! Again, I hope I'm not sounding offensive regarding Asains. The one person I trust with trimming my hair is an Asian guy named Ahn! He is absolutely GREAT!!! So I'm not downing Asians and I apologize if anyone has taken offense.

I've been using Surge faithfully for over a month now. I spray only my scalp every evening after condition washes and then follow with some Hot Six Oil. So far I've had no problems at all.

I have been using SURGE since November with no problems.
I spray my scalp twice a day and hair once a nightly
followed by the Woojee Cream or Lotion Motion #9 oil.
I am liking the results I have been getting from SURGE my
hair is stronger.
I plan to keep using it as long as I have no side effects.

I haven't had any problems, this Friday will be 3 weeks for me. I use it 2x/day. I only oil my head 2x/week. I wash 1x/week. Like misskeyana I may not continue with it once I'm done because it's not sold locally. I will probably just use Redken's anti-snap (all I wanted Surge to do was control breakage and split ends anyways).

I haven't had any problems with Surge, but I only use it after my conditioner washes and 5 weeks after my touchup.

I really don't have a problem with Surge being sold by or made by Asians. If it's a good product, then it's a good product regardless of who sells or makes it. There have been plenty of products made by so-called "black" companies that are harmful to our hair...so I make no distinction between race when it comes to buying hair products.

I haven't had any problems, I mix it with the oil.
I read before in an earlier post that all agreed that Surge was a product that finally worked and does what it was suppose to. However, we must read the directions, I agree, and that some of us are also more sensitive then other to ingrediants and fragrances. So if anyone that has some irriation, then they should use it less and maybe add some oil or moisture to it.

I've been using surge for 2 months with no problems and i'm still on the 1st bottle.
I spray it 2x daily followed by my s-curl moisturizer and castor oil.

I'm loving the results!!

I've been using Surge for about 1 month, 2 times per day sprayed onto my scalp. I haven't experienced dryness, itching or scaling. I use a creme moisturizer in my hair after the application.

I've been using it since mid December with no problems. I spray it on my nape, hairline and the crown area that broke off after my last t/u. I spray 1x per day. A few hours before bedtime. I let the Surge dry for a few minutes and then I massage in some Carolyn Gray HHIB Oil.

I conditioner wash or wet my hair with a distilled water/conditioner/oil mix every day.

No issues w/ surge for me. I co wash daily and spray 2x day followed by woojee or lotionmotion. This is my 2nd week.

That's what I'm doing too. I'll finish what I have and then no more. The back of my head seems to have developed a permanent tingle which now occurs whenever I apply a product of any kind and that is kind of scary.

I haven't had any problems with surge. I only use it 5 weeks after my touch-up, 1x daily. I wait 5 weeks because it accelerates my hair growth. Overall, I am one of the few that is pleased with this product.

I do daily co washes and Surge twice a day with absolutely no problem. I have been Surging since Dec 16th and very happy with the results. I am not going to stop using the product as long as I see results.
