How many months, weeks, or days would it be?

I am 8 months post and I am doing a good job handling the textures. I am just getting the itch. I know it sounds bad but I don't have a lot of money to buy the products I want to try (KCCC, Miss jessie, KBB, etc) and don't wanna bc until i have the money to get sme products, hair accesories, earrings, etc. I am holding on to my hair until I can make a pony tail with my NG (I am assuming it will be 2 years)

I agree with your plan. Wait it out long as you can until you can afford to purchase those products. Especially since you are doing a good job handling the different textures.

next summer is perfect for me..right at the beginng of summer, like june 22. so i can do wash and go's and shingle and puffs and all that jazz without worrying about my hair drying out from cold. then i would hide it in buns again as the weather cools off. i want to BC and enjoy the hair for a while. oh and that puts me at 27 months, which with the growth rate i am getting right now, my natural hair would be BSL

You are 66 weeks post?! You are my hero!! Is most of your hair relaxed or natural? Do you find that the relaxed ends are breaking off or are you doing mimi chops? I cannot believe you are so far in your transition. Big ups

i know. sometimes i can't believe it either. but every saturday i am like, "there goes another week" lol. most of my hair is natural now..like 75-80%. i did a mini chop when i began my transition from almost APL to shoulder length. then i let it grow back to APL and starting trimming monthly from january to march-ish i think (taking off about 3-4 inches in total) putting me back at 1 or so inches past SL. i wanted to get rid of a lot of the stringy ends so that styles looked better and to rid myself of the BC itch. now i am content. i am back at APL and rock buns in all different kinds of ways. i am set in my BC plan now. and since i keep my hair moisturized, i don't really have any breakage issues

Me neither. I am going to straighten for the first time in four months. I am afraid I will like the length! lol. We shall see. I plan on doing a mini BC on NYE of 2010.

that length will get you. lol. its what made me take so long to start the trimming. but when you straighten and see all the extra stringy ends, you will just FEEL like some it has to go. now i am solely curly to avoid that again. i am not straightening again until thanksgiving. i am gonna trim/dust then just so it looks even

I actually had the opposite effect. My ends looked so stringy I felt like I had to straighten, then I decided I would cut about 3-4 inches. Straightened and saw that my hair is in very good shape, contrary to how it looks wet. I only cut about an inch. I plan to cut about 3 this time no matter what!

just do it! lol. i just grabbed a chunk and chopped it before i had time to think about it, or i knew i would talk myself out of it

Im aiming for 24 months...
