curling iron, what brand would you recommend. I have a Jilbere that cost me roughtly $30 at Sally's, but I'm not overly impressed with it. What are you guys' favorites?
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
HAI makes one. It's call 3 in 1 curling iron (I think). They have it at metrobeauty for 140 something. Not the cheapest place to buy but I trust metro.
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
Nah--but they came out with a spring grip one at the end of 2003 (I read it on one of those sites)--and I saw it on ebay. I'm getting excited--I just read a review comparing the CHI to the Jilbere & of course the lady said that the Jilbere is no comparison to the CHI.
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
my stylist uses the chi and the results are unbelievable. it makes my new growth look like it was freshly relaxed. i'm just not getting the same results with my jilbere either. i think i'm gonna be shelling out the $$$ for the chi pretty soon
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
Cheap flat irons have ceramic coated plates, and the Chi has ceramic plates and coils. It gets hotter and conducts heat more evenly. I've used a conair flat iron and it was horrible. The Chi is second to none in my opinion.
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
SG,
Do you think that means it would be just as damaging as using the regular metal plates?? My daughter just bought herself one of those skinny Conair flat irons and I don't want her messing up her hair with it...
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
I think the damage level would be between that of a completely metal iron and a completely ceramic iron. What do you think? Does that kind of make sense? I'm only guessing. My Jilbere snags my hair & the woman that reviewed the Jilbere vs. the CHI said that the Jilbere snagged her hair too but that the CHI didn't.
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
I bought and returned a Jibere mini flat iron because it didnt straighten my new growth AT ALL. There was not temperature setting and I believe that it just didnt get hot enough to do the trick.
Re: If I wanted to invest in a top quality ceramic
I'm glad you have decided not to have a curling iron that snags your hair. No need of being stressed with the tress during heat sesssions.
Chi ceramic curling iron sounds like something I need since I don't have a ceramic curling iron
(PJ in overcoming "ism" stage ). I have the 1" turbo flat iron but the curling iron would be more versatile
.
Has anyone confirm with Farouk as to if they do in fact make the curling irons seen on other sites? I checked my box and found the service number listed on the owners instructions. Here's the #(281) 876-2000. I will be giving them a call later today.
