WHAT am I gonna do with 3 LBS of this CRAP?
Shea butter creates a barrier that prevents water from evaporating from your skin and hair. If you don't like it for your hair, use it on your skin, especially when the weather gets cold. It's worth giving it a try on your hair again though, just melt it first and use very little. Good luck.

Yea - well, what I did not say before is that this is the 4th time trying it.
we are done.....

thanks though.....

:waving hands: similiar experience here...except I mixed my raw shea with some leave-in condish and oil and used as a setting lotion for my rod sets. my hair was shiny and GREASY and for 3 days I couldn't rest my head on nothing..and needless to say my poor pillow looked like the scene from Coming to America. I learned that a little of pure shea butter goes a loooooooooong way. unfortunately I had to toss that concoction b/c there wasn't anyway I could figure out how to 'water' it down. but now I am not as liberal with my shea butter...

I order mines from Coastalscents and I use a small amount but it works really really good on dry skin, I used it on my daughter she had a dry patch at the top of her neck in the back that just would not go away and is now gone. I use just a small amount on it and its wonderful for your feet your heels and between your toes and elbows and knees. I have had this one pound since August so it just last and last and last. I also use it to seal braids or twist on the very ends. I melt it and then rub it on my ends - I use it basically on just these few things and I would say keep the product, you'll find uses for them.

I can't use pea size anything on my hair.
I'm so obsessed with my hair that every strand has to have the goodies on it and with a pea size, I'm SURE some strands would be left out to dry on her own....
I've been applying shea butter every moring on the top and on the ends. Sometimes I'll open up the hair and lay it in there lol
