No advice here, chicca. Shea and my hair never got along. Felt soft on application but later I'd have hard dry hair. :nono:

Just came in here coz I thought your thread said, "If I spin my head..." and I wanted to suggest that you the exorcist if that happens.

Yea you only need a tiny bit. so if u use it while braiding try to use a dime size amount per braid.. this happened to me the first time i used it . When i use a small amount i have to really melt it to the fullest with my hands so it could go a long way

OMG, why did I just do the samething????? I just broke off a piece rubbed it in my hands and smoothed it on the front of my hair and immediately regretted it. We will see how it looks in the morning:ohwell:

YOU ARE A FOOL:lachen::lachen::lachen::lachen:

My daily dose has come... From NONIE today....
I am in tears.
:lachen::lachen::lachen:

Seriously, if it did not work for you... Then it ain't gonna work for me. I was wondering why my head felt CRISPY...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
WHAT am I gonna do with 3 LBS of this CRAP?

You only need a little of this rich and creamy goodness for your hair. Maybe a pea sized amount at the most to each section.

Two things.. 1. Melt it first and 2. A little goes a loong way.

Well, the consensus is good... A pea size works. Thanks Ladies.

I guess 3 Lbs will last 22 years.:sad::sad:

Maybe try spritzing with s-curl. Idk for sure though. I use this:

It has a lot of shea butter in it. I only use it on my nape hair though because that's the only section that needs it. But I always layer it with s-curl and oil and by morning there is no white stuff left.

A little goes a long way with shea. Try moisturizing by emulsifying a small amount of shea between your hands and smoothing it over sections or even your whole head. The amount of hair you have determines the amount that should be used...i'm more of a quarter than a pea LOL! Usually I mix my own "cocoshealoe" but sometimes I am lazy and use shea only. A good heavy application of pure raw (dark yellow) shea butter leaves my hair moisturized for up to 3 days.

:yep: LOL, yah pretty much.. because shea butter dries so hard if you put layers and layers on it, when it dries.. it will be like layers and layers of dry unrefined shea butter on your hair= hard hair. Only put a thin film... then you will be able to tell the diff. Do you live in the cold.. maybe it will feel better in the summer when the tempuratures are warmer. So if you don't like it now try it again in about 6months.

If you find that you really hate it, please feel free to send it to me. I will buy it from you happily. My hair is married to shea butter. Seriously, though...I hope you find a method that works for you.

Your hair is BEAUTIFUL!!!

S-curl? I don't use commercial products... so is S-curl a glycerin based product????
Thanks much!

:lachen:
It is the end of the road for me & shea.....

:lachen::lachen::lachen:Crazy...

It's true though you can't be heavy handed with shea butter. If not you get a sticky greasy mess. A dab per plait would have been enough. I like it for my NG 12+ weeks post.

In the words of Florida Evans..."DAMN, Damn, Damn!!!"

Will this stuff EVER come out of my hair????:blush:

I love to use shea butter in my hair, but I don't mind having oily or greasy natural hair. It would be difficult to continue my natural journey without shea butter it's been a great help to my hair:)

I'm relaxed and it works wonders for me. I use my NTM silk touch first make sure my hair is moisturized, then I take just a little bit f my Shea butter and rub it between my palms and it melts not all the way but significantly then I just rub it on my hair, and immediately put my scarf on. IT SEALS MY MOISTURE LIKE NO OTHER. When I wake up in the morning my hair is sooooo moisturized and it literally feels like butter, but everything doesn't work for everyone, just give SB another chance, I almost gave up on it when I did what you did, I USED TOOOO MUCH. HTH & HHG

YES....:lachen:I used TOOO MUCH....(thanks much BTW)
Does this GOOP wash out easily??????

Yes it is a glycerin-based product:yep:. Shea loves glycerin and oil imo. Don't give up on shea just yet, especially if you have dry hair, try some suggestions you've gotten here and see how it goes first. A little really does go a long way, my little jar lasts like more than a year. And it keeps really well.

You can use a small amount (emulsified btw hands) to seal your ends. That's I use it mostly. For a LONG time I thought Shea butter didn't work on my hair. But I discovered my hair likes raw unrefined shea in small doses.

HTH

Yeah ummmm now that I've stopped laughing...

I don't really use shea that often because of the greasiness. It's great for weighing down my hair (gives me more hang) but you're right, if you use to much, then it's super greasy.

Just go on ahead and wash it right out. Make sure you rinse really well.

LOL. Still laughing.
