I just saw a post that said that 12 inches = Brastrap

So how many inches are the rest of the terms we use here: Shoulder Length, Armpit, Waist, etc. ?

Im just curious...

I think its good that at some point it got quantified because those lengths can be different on people for a 1000 different reasons....

Whoa...what?! Who's brastrap is 12 inches from the crown of their head?! LOL - that sounds painful - like it could choke somebody.

I'm 17" and no where NEAR bra strap (I'm still like 2.5" shy).

Here's my thing about bra-strap - where are people wearing their brastraps?! I swear some folks adjust their bras to their hair and not the other way around.

Not to get all Victoria-Secret on people, but your bra strap is supposed to sit right below the bottom of your shoulder blades. Sisters need to realize if your bra strap is ARCHING across your back like a Rainbow and hiked up in the middle of your back (so not sitting at the same level all the way around, front to back), ladies YOUR BRA IS TOO DAMN SMALL.

If you've got two layers of boobies in the front, YOUR BRA IS TOO DAMN SMALL.

:::Breathe::: What was the question again?!

Oh yea - I'm thinking 18" is bra strap length, for a female who's 5'5" - 5'8".

12 inches Bra strap only if your measuring from the nape of your neck would that be possible

.

:lachen: I hear you!

I'm 5'7, and brastrap is probably about 22-23 inches on me, from hairline to ends. I will double check when I get home though,

:lachen: :lachen: I almost fell out my chair at work...you are too funny...

Thanks for the responses and the link to the thread...I dont measure....I cant even check length because I am not using heat...

I dont really care that much about length goals in a certain time period...lol...my first goal was to be shoulder length by December 2007 :( and I am shoulder length now...lol....I just wanted it to be shoulder length while natural since its a little more than half and half now..I have since adjusted that to SL by December 2006... but if I dont make it...I aint trippin...

I just thought that I was missing something on inch correlations....but now I know that I am not...

Thanks ladies....

12inches don't =barstrap for me it's almost midback for me. I'm only 5'1 and don't have a long back. This is from the nape of my headbut from the hair line its about 24 I think but I'm not sure

12 inches= brastrap only if you multiply it by 2.
12 inches = a little bit below neck length, not even shoulder(I don't think)

I agree. I'm probably about 17 inches from hairline to ends and my hair is about 2 inches past shoulder. For me (I have a short torso) brastrap from nape to ends is about 10 inches. if I'm measuring from hairline to ends it would be about 23 inches I think.

I'm at 23 inches from the hairline and I'm still 2.5-3 inches from brastrap. It varies from woman to woman based on her build and height. I'm 5'6" and I have a long neck.

12 inches = brastrap? For who? A little person? For me brastrap would be close to 24 inches of hair give or take a few, and I'm short. It's relative to whoever is doing the measuring.

Not even 12 inches measured from the nape is BSL, but it's closer than measured from the hairline. I found the best way to figure out how many inches is to measure from your hairline and have someone take a picture. Then you can see how many inches until you get to APL, BSL etc.

I am rollin at the jacked up brastrap comments. But i do know what yall mean, i have seen with my own eyes a few bras that are almost up their neck. lol. I think bsl will be about 24 inches for me...I have a long head, long neck and long torso...

Yall are HILARIOUS....leave it to LHCFers to keep it real....

I am going to make sure that when I start taking pictures...I wear my nice, personally fitted Victoria secret bras....no old/raggedy bras for LHCF...gotta wear my good stuff or get clowned :lachen:

yall are too much...

I have always wondered why many women refer to their brastrap when growing their hair. I think the whole idea was that regardless of genetics, typically anyone should be able to grow a foot of hair. This would equal brastrap on an avg height woman. I don't know what the avg height is, perhaps 5'4-5'5. This is not measuring from hairline. This has to do with the individual strands of hair growing 12 inches.

Ditto, I'm 5'0 and I don;t have a long back and brastrap is 24 inches on me.

clearly it depends on your height,as well as the length of your neck.....bsl for me is 23inches and im 5'5...but I have a swan neck...right now im about 18 inches from hairline...

From my hairline to BSL is 26 inches on me  (factoring in my long neck) and I'm 5'6". Now my 2 y/o can get to BSL with 12 inches of hair :lachen: :lachen:

12inches=Brastrap if your a midget maybe. :look:
Measuring from your nape isnt an accurate way to measure.
Measuring from your hairline to your ends is a more accurate way to measure IMO.

That's about right. I am 15 inches and just at shoulder after my trims. And it's about to get shorter. :(

wait, do you ladies measure from the hairline or from the crown? I was measuring from the top middle part of my head. I get so confused by this. Either way, I know I ain't at brastrap - not even APL. :lachen:

That's exactly what I was thinking, Lucia. Because at shoulder length, many people still need 6 inches of hair to make bra strap.

Why? So if only your nape is touching BSL your not really BSL?

This is really confusing? What if you have layers? I don't understand.

Can anyone explain this to me.
