Idea ways to deep condition w/o heat

I just moved and waiting for my hood dryer to come with household goods. I have a plastic cap and my silk scarf over it but not sure if that's enough. What other ways have you used to deep condition when out of a hood dryer?:wallbash:

Before I had a hooded dryer I would warm a wet towel in the microwave and wrap it around the plastic cap I used to deep condition. I would put another plastic cap on top of the towel. I would reheat the towel 3 times every 10 minutes to keep it warm. Worked for me.

You can do SamanthaJones' steam method, or you can dc overnight :yep:

i deep condition overnight in the summer about 3 times a week. now its colder if i didnt have a drier i would just let the conditioner sit for an hour or more with the shower cap on.

i place a knit hat over my shower cap when deep conditioning. sometimes i go running while deep conditioning (only in the winter so i don't look too crazy) or I clean around the house while waiting. last night about 4 hours passed while i was cleaning!

I usually condition overnight or put a shower cap on my head and cover it with a towel (I can feel my head naturally heat up when I do this...but maybe I'm just hot headed, lol).

You can wear a plastic cap and do stuff around the house for an hour...Is good enough!

Do any of you apply the DC on dry hair or strictly after shampooing?

Both - you can apply a moisturizing DC (you could also mix with some evoo or castor oil - whatever oils you prefer) on dry hair - leave on for at least 30 minutes and max overnight - rinse then shampoo. You can also use after shampooing...either way is fine. I prefer to do it both ways - depends on what kind of mood I am in...

Smiley, you can do it either way :yep:

There have been plenty of times when I DCW'd (Deep Co Wash) and the results were just as good as 'regular' deep conditioning. I don't do it too often anymore though, because on dry hair it takes LOTS more conditioner than wet hair!

I've done a variation, using my microfiber turban and putting it over the shower cap, or using one of those THICK shower caps that you use to keep your hair dry in the shower. That sucka holds in heat like you wouldn't believe! Or using a knit cap over the disposable shower cap. Sleeping in it too and wrapping up your head well works.

I just started going back to the gym 3 x a week and it has crossed my mind to deep condition but I sweat like a pig. I can see it now burning my eyes while on the bike and whatnot.:lachen: But I love the knit hat idea which will be part of my regimen as well. thanks:yep:

I just started this twice a week deep conditioning since my hair has why too much protein and breaking off like crazy. On wed. I do my weekly wash as usual with deep condition and then on Sat. I just deep condition on dry hair rinse, moisturize, seal with oil. I'm still confused on if I should co wash if it's not my weekly wash day. :nono:
