I saw Caramel Honee's photo album (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?p=999&gid=4107628&uid=1022171) and fell in love with straw sets! Now I'm just wondering... how long does this style last? and what's the best length for it???

Here's the length of my hair straight:

and in a braid out (if that helps any):

is my hair a safe length?? I don't want to end up with a mini fro!
...Thanks in advance.

Hey Kristen!
I'll give you my honest opinion. I've never had a straw set before, but I have had flexi rod sets twice. Everytime I have that set done, I want to kick myself because I end up looking like a black version of Shirley Temple and I am very very unhappy. If you want a look like CaramelHonee's than you might be disappointed because of the length difference.

If you want to do something different to your hair and you don't have an important public event (i.e. date, interview), then go ahead and experiment with a straw set and see how you like it. Crazy as this may sound, I am done with grad school for the summer so I may go for another flexi rod set just to do something different with my hair and give it a rest for a bit.

HTH!

Hmmmm I say your hair will look about my curly length or a minute amount shorter :) If you like short hair styles then go for it! It shrinks your hair up alot. My friend who has nearly wasitlengthhair gets strawsets a few times a year and after leaving the salon her hair is to her shoulders.

Thank you for the heads up!

I think a strawset would look great on your hair, Ayeshia is right in that it will cause major shrinkage. As far as how long the styles lasts, the most I could get was ~10 days, but that was because I was working out almost everyday and sweating up a storm. Lovelymissoli said she can get it too last for about 3 weeks. Good luck
