For some reason, when it comes to complimenting natural hair black men seem to lose all sense as far as how to approach the situation. IME they either get extremely shy and fidget-y and wierd, or they go straight animal on you and begin speaking in low groaning tones and monsyllables.

It's very strange, but harmless. I think some of them see it so rarely that their nervous system goes haywire in an attempt to process the sight.


ETA: I haven't been to a bar or club since I chopped...and I'm actually afraid of what may happen. I just imagine all kinds of random unwashed hands grabbing and squishing entire fistfuls of fro, or feeling the sudden sharp bite of having one of my coils pulled....grrrr
