I was unfriended on fotki!!!!

Oh wow. People get emails about "unfriending"? I thought it was like facebook for some reason. I didn't know that.

I've "unfriended" some people for the following reasons:
  • some friends haven't been active in ages and have vanished from the fotki world
  • a few are ALWAYS on my page but NEVER leave comments though I leave comments EVERY time I'm on their page (it's a pet peeve I have)
  • I'm trying to keep my friends list down to those fotkis I frequent a lot (and some hair board friends) - it's just makes it easier and more organized for me

I used to think he was so pretty with his irredescent fur/scales on his back:grin: talking all calm to that boy and stuff... what was that boys name.... Bastian...Sabastian!... Anyway, I LOVE that movie... I'm gonna see if I can add it to my 'old movie' collection. I bet my 12 y.o. daughter would love it too...
 
LOL! I have been unfriended by a member. I guess my hair wasn't their cup of tea after a while. Maybe it was due to me deciding to transition and they were no longer interested in my journey or me cutting my hair. IDK. I am not bothered by it at all. I have viewed many fotki's and I don't add everyone. I usually look for members who either have the same hair type, or that are at the same point in their journey (length, transitioning, natural inspirations). I have also unfriended a couple members. This was only due to me starting my transition and becoming more interested in natural or transitioning hair. I also unfriended members who have not been on their fotki in a while or no recent updates. I don't like when people come to my albums and just have a view for all and have nothing to say. Also, members with locked albums who visit and say nothing and are not nice enough to privately send me their pw so I can stalk their fotki. I like to keep my list as clean as possible in order to do my weekly stalking sessions without wasting time in unkempt fotki albums.:ohwell:

ETA: Zzirvingj, you have gorgeous hair and I have added you. So one friend lost and one friend gained. LOL!

So if you 'unfriend' somebody.. does it tell that person who are you are? or does it just notify that you were unfriended w/out the person's name being mentioned.

Yes, it gives the persons member name and a link to their page. LOL! When I get unfriended I click on the link to the persons page and hopeuflly it lets them know that you are not anonymous. But it is all cool. I bit funny too. :yep:
 
awwwwwwww chin-up girl - not even worth worrying about - being unfriended and all.

it's happened to me twice - have no idea why. it hurt my fee-fees for all of 15 seconds and then i got over it :grin:.

i'm a friend collector and once you're "in", ya stay "in".

my God, i feel like such an a$$. i always go thru my friend's list and un-friend people who haven't updated in a long while, or Fotki's with passwords i no longer remember.

:perplexed

so to all y'all out there - it's not personal... if i had known Fotki sent alerts saying i un-friended you i NEVER would've done it. i just like it to be easy to scroll thru my friend's list and click on those with open Fotkis who have updated lately.

i feel so bad, i wonder how many people's feelings i've hurt being thoughtless... :nono:

WOW, I didn't even know this was an option, but I'm mortified that Fotki will let that person know. You would think that it's like something that you can do in private.......Darned fotki sometimes!:wallbash:
 
I didn't read the posts, but I got unfriended and I asked her why. She said she updates her fotki every now and then. She said if she doesn't hear from people in a while or don't see them on any of the hair boards after a while she cleans out her friend box. Then she refriended me. I think that could be the main reason, just to stay current...

Yes..But I didn't realize that people received emails when I did. Now I'm kinda :blush:

I like to keep my friends list to 1 page so that I can I check them out easily. So once I get beyond 1 pg, I start to purge my list. Those that I tend to remove are the ones that I don't check out as often. Definitely nothing personal :)
 
Yeah, I unfriend people, if I don't go on their page that much and if they haven't updated in like a year or if they hair is not like mine

I check my "friends" fotki's regularly. I will "unfriend" someone if:

1) Folder passwords constantly change; I have not problem asking for it once, but if it changes every update...I really don't have time.
2) The fotki is rarely, if ever, updated. I loved this one LHCFers hair and fotki but it has been two years and despite NUMEROUS request from myself and others, she has yet to update so...:look:
3) The fotki is frequently, "Unavailable for Non-Technical Reasons."

It's nuthin' personal, but you know how serious this hair game can get. LMBAO. My "friends" are just people who's fotkis are updated regularly, have similary hair to mine (or is just inspirational...aka Babygurl) and are generally friendly.

4) Attitude. I will drop someone who has an attitued real quick...I just don't need that in my life. For example, there was one person who started on the journey around the same time as me and was really friendly at first. But when I started posting updates and my hair appeared to be gaining length a little faster than hers suddenly she was like, "How long did you transition? Oh, okay." or "Well your texture isn't such and such." and so on...

I thought of you when I got my e-mail on Yahoo telling me I was removed from ___________ friend's list. WTH? :perplexed
 
I haven't been unfriended, but I have a 1 star rating.:lachen: It's fine with me, because compared to other fotki's that is a fair assessment.
 
i dont unfriend people , but i barely even friend them to start with..Someone unfriended me once .. but i think that's because I didn't give her my password to the HYH album ... i was like :ohwell:... well i'll unfriend your lil butt too ! I have had people befriend me ... i dont know who they are , never got a comment , guestbook , poke (sorry thinking facebook) or even a "i friended u". So its like if you are active on my page and I realise you added me from a while back , then I would add back other than that i dont usually add people... or unfriend them ...that's just wrong

Wow. I haven't been unfriended...yet (crosses fingers). It would kinda hurt my feelings though. I add people because their hair inspires me for some reason. I would be extremely flattered if my hair inspired someone (someday)!
I don't even see the point in passwords...it's just hair!
However, I would be ok if the person just chose another "hair path" in life and didn't want to be "tempted", or if someone doesn't update in forever....
but don't knock a sista for not having a camera to update with!
I wish you had the option of unfriending people with a reason, if you really felt the need to.
